The Col Still Reads

Sooo.... I am continually amazed by things people claimed back then with a straight face that were taken as true. In some cases they are still considered true, even if no human would ever seriously believe them. I am talking about Juan Flynn's assertion that he knew about the killings but it was okay. Uh huh.

Also today we see Melcher get away with easy questions... and most of the press seems to believe Charlie thought he still lived there. It explains Tate a lot more readily than believing the BUG's novel.

Finally we have the NY TIMES from the day of the Bruce Davis surrender, the first youtube I ever posted. It claims that Nancy was married to Bruce. I don't recall that. Anyone know if this is true?

I had heard they were married around June of 1970.
I have never seen their marriage license, so who knows if it's actually true.
I may have read it in another article, and we all know how reliable the press is.

Isn't Melcher dead?

@jm30
yes 19 nov 2004 Melanoma

Very strange the words...
"It has been Manson's contention that he never visited the house" etc...etc...
was he tring to hide something ?

Soooo... Hatami seems to have said
" the Polanski's were living here"
to Charles Manson ( who was uninvited...)
(sorry, but what an idiot to give that kind of personal informations to a stranger...)
humm....
and by the way , what an awfull pic of CM,
allmost seems to be content...!!!

if the case was about some freaky "friends"
who got out of hand because of a drug thing....
he would look probably
so pissed off entering the court...

May be wrong but have an idea I saw a copy of the marriage license - but can't find it now. Was it on Cats' blog, I wonder?

You reading this, Cats?

you're right Hatami shouldn't (wouldn't/didn't) volunteer information like that, but there's so many people involved in this that don't seem to have been particularly bright!

Yes, Terry Melcher is dead. I think he died in and around November 2004.

Cats just emailed me - she says Nancy and Bruce were married - Bruce under the name of Grant Mollan, which is weird cos that is the alias Grogan used in the Spahn raid (and his one alias). Guess these guys swapped names like bed-partners.

Cats says you can view this in Ancestry.com if you have access (she and I don't any more).

If this helps

who is cats?

Hi Becca

I don't know 'who' Cats is - other than someone out on the Internet - but she has an interesting site that gathers together information about Manson-related stuff (and comments). You'll find the site at http://truthontatelabianca.com//index.php, and you'll see that it's very different from this blog - what I like is that it's easier to access old posts and has a search button on it.

But, as for 'who is Cats', other than saying she's always been friendly and polite to me I really have no idea.

I find it such a shame manson put his energy into murder instead of postive energy such has ATWA.Men like Paul Watson of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and Keith Mann Animal Liberation Front are what manson could of been instead of rotting and ranting in the prison system for 30 years.

That documentary we were talking about last summer, on MSNBC, is being broadcast on Sunday. Lots of shameless self-promotion by Mr. Bugliosi. At least Gypsy seems to be speaking somewhat truthfully. It's the media, so wear your caution glasses.

hey there AC and pristash, hope you guys are doing well. one thing I will say is that MSNBC's marketing for Sunday's "documentary" is the best I've seen for any of these manson exploitation shows. The program itself might be shit but I like the way they are promoting it.

AC, enjoyed your travel pics. been feeling some wanderlust lately so the pics really spoke to me!

I know you've all heard about the 2 most recent Manson TV docs.
Here's a 3rd new one that I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere:

Bruce Davis claims he's only been married once. And that was while in jail.

According to William Zamora, Gregg Jakobson testified that Manson knew Melcher had moved from Cielo. He stole a telescope from his new place. In George Stimson's book, Stimson says Charlie admitted that he stole it "to fuck with him."
