Doggies at the big ROUND-UP
ITEM- The Col will be finishing his special mission in the frozen North in just about one month.
ITEM- The Col will hopefully take a well deserved vacation for a week after that.
ITEM- Then at long last we will resume regularly scheduled blogging.
We've got more exposes of Debra Tate.
We've got some interviews you will not believe.
We've got some very tetchy people getting very upset.
ITEM- The Col actually WON (as if) that $5,000 ebay pile of papers from the disgruntled New York writer. He had to get one of his NYPD friends to ship the entire pile out of there. Nine huge boxes await me at home. Cannot wait to see what the hell it is that I bought.
ITEM- Mark Turner has opened his board again HERE. The Col will not likely visit often since it will likely be shut down again. But if you go, say a prayer first. For Dennis Rice's children.
ITEM- KTS has asked us to pull the link to their site. I will do anything those ladies ask.
ITEM- Question Everything!

Awesome Col on winning those papers.. If they're anything like the ones I have, the reading is going to be MORE than interesting....
Savage,
We had our reasons for asking Col Scott to remove the link for a while. It had nothing to do with pettiness...
It was explained to him and he helped us out GREATLY by doing it..
=)
Does this mean the Col won't post for another month?
More Debra news!! This feels like clips for next season LOL! We miss ya Col!

and for the record-not visiting Turner's bored-I am NO ONES STOOPID HOUSEWIFE BUT DA COL'S..
;)
Da Cat is funny
LOL Cat, I like a playful housewife that knows how to play twister.
Huh? There is no question that Bugliosi did and then lied under oath. I got that from many sources, including Aaron Stovitz.

"Da Doktor seems like an intelligent man-so let me ask ya this-if Tex and Charlie showed up on your doorstep after the Tate murders in the middle of the night-would ya open the door?
1969, Yes I would have opened the door. 2006, Not a chance in hell.

"And why was there boat still in the driveway and not put away as usual and they were in their pj's???"
I think Leno needed to drop the kids off at the pool, so he parked the boat on the street, ran inside with Rosemary (She got into her PJ's), took care of business. By the time he was done, started to head out and the gang showed up.

"And if by chance, the good gathering, planned for Sept, rolled by your house in the MansonMobile, playing either Garbage Dump or ice cream truck music, would ya hop on board for the adventure, or would ya hide? LOL..."
Naw baby, I'd pass them up and not by hiding. I would graciously bow out.
"Here Kitty Kitty"
Colonel,
why would Bugliosi bring the Nixon paper into the court room? It's not that I am doubting you but it doesn't make sense unless he thought he was losing the case and wanted a new trial.
Did Stovitz say anything about a motive for it all?
Deb
He brought it in by accident- it was never intended to be used like Charlie used it. He was working 20 hour days and intended to show the headline to his staff later, put it down and POW history.
The lies came later.
Thanks, Colonel. It's amazing how something simple can have such an impact and you don't even think about it.
Bugliosi wasn't the one who brought the paper into the courtroom, it was Daye Shinn, who was the attorney for Susan Atkins..
He said that he was going to read the sports page during a recess..
Shinn was found in contempt and sentenced to 3 nights in county jail.
Stovitz was the one who witnessed Manson holding the newspaper up to the jury. It was after the noon recess and the counsel was at the bench discussing a matter regarding records subpoenaed by the defense...
Stovitz, who always had a habit of facing the defendants, and jury during the times at the bench, saw Manson grab the paper off the defense table and hold the headline up to the jury..
Stovitz yelled out "Your Honor, Mr. Manson just held up The Times edition and showed it to the jury."
Kenarek was blamed because Manson fished the newspaper out from a pile of Kenareks papers, but Kenarek was animate that he had not brought the paper into the courtroom.
The Bailiff, said that when everyone had returned from the lunch recess, he checked the tables and there were no papers on them with any headlines...
It wasn't until after the jury was each interviewed by Judge Older, that Shinn came clean...
Shinn had to be sworn in and testify to the court about how the newspaper wound up in Manson's hands.. He testified that when they returned from lunch, he had seen a some newspapers on top of a file cabinet. He said he believed that they were the newspapers that had been taken from the defense table, after all the headlines had been removed. He said he picked up the paper and brought it to the defense table because he wanted to read the sports page during a recess..
He claimed that he didn't know the front page was with it.
He also said that Mr Kenarek had nothing to do with it.
Judge Older was pissed and found him in contempt...
And now you know the rest of the story...
=)
Thanks Heaven!
You are most welcome...
=)
Savage,
That's where it get's strange.. No one seems to know how the headline ended up with the paper. The bailiff testified that he saw the paper and the headlines had been removed.
So, I'm wondering if maybe a family member or someone on Manson's side, didn't slip that in there.
Shinn did say he had been reading it, but didn't notice any headlines about Nixon..
Manson knew it was there and waited for his moment to grab it..
It's a strange occurrence, that's for sure...
=)
Maybe Charlie saw the headline on the way over while he was in the bus. HS says the windows on the bus for the jury were bon-amied but it doesn't say anything about the prisoners' transport being covered up at all.
Deb
I am excited to read what goodies are hidden in those boxes! Happy reading!
