Bruce Davis, Model Citizen

We've been talking about Bruce's surrendering in the comments.

On the hilarious Manson2Jesus site Brucie claims relatives convinced him to surrender.

Uh Huh.

Bug says Charlie made him surrender.

I love the internet.
No one can lie to the Col anymore. I think the footage speaks for itself.

Courtesy of the Col, enjoy BRUCE DAVIS SURRENDERS TO LAPD.

That is a hoot!

They fire questions at him and he's VERY selective in his answers.. When he answers at all...

Brenda looks totally wasted.
I assume they were fresh from the LA sewer system....

Thanks for sharing!

They looked pretty disillusioned lol

Both Bruce and Brenda McCann sound so much like Charlie - just spewing riddles.

Amazing footage though. Who is the other lawyer there besides Daye Shinn and Paul Fitzgerald?

Looks to me like a couple of folks who are saturated with some very potent LSD-25. They seem hilariously amazed that these people can't see that, and expect them to make sense, and be all serious and stuff.
---
Not that they weren't being evasive. Not that this wasn't a very serious moment. It was. They just couldn't comprehend it because of the drugs and their mental state at the time. They knew what they were not going to say, the rest is just well, what it is. nonsense

just my .02

That is some awesome footage, Col. Thanks for sharing.

My gut’s telling me that Davis didn’t turn himself in for the love of the family. Something was happening behind the scenes.

Cats—I disagree, I want me some of that stuff, especially if I’m going to the slam for the rest of my life.

What an interesting video, thank you Col. Watching it was like time traveling. I found their behavior bizarre and bone chilling. Oh, and hearing the girls singing at the beginning of the video gave me chills. Did you get a look at how large and deep Brenda's "X" was. That's gonna leave a mark!!!!

Col this is some of my favorite footage. It's mesmerizing for some reason. I love seeing all the old cars drive by, and there's something strangely interesting about the lighting. it's dark and pale and grey on the sidewalk because the Hall Of Justice is blocking the sun, but you can see the sunshine hitting the trees in the distance. LA in the winter.

Doc I agree, the girls singing is wild (and if you listen real close and you've heard as many of her interviews as I have, I think you can hear Sandra Good among the voices. And then you see her little crazy head poking out from behind the crowd while Bruce is talking).

Does anyone notice when they ask him what is being done in exchange for him turning himself in, he looks over at Cap and she kinda shakes her head like "no, don't go there"?

Brenda is just a freaking TRIP.

"Where've you been?"

"IN YOUR HOUSE!!! (giggle giggle giggle)"

"How have you been living?"

"MY FATHER TAKES GOOD CARE OF ME"

Ok so how much of her little act was REHEARSED?

Col, do you know the date that this footage was recorded? Either specifically or roughly?

In April of 1970, Mary Brunner implicated Davis in the Hinman murder, and he immediately went into hiding. On Manson's orders Davis turned himself in on December 2, 1970. Afterwhich, Bruce went on trial for the murders of both Hinman and Shea.

Yeah, the reporters keep asking if there's a deal as if that's what they've been told. And the lawyers were obviously aware that he was coming in. Wish to hell Paul Fitzgerald was still alive....
