This Year I LIKE CHOPIN

Welcome to 2009.

This year we'll see many fortieth anniversary stories about the murders, all of whom will have BUGliosi holding forth on his one triumph in life.

This year we'll see Tom O'Neill's new book from Penguin, wherein his years of extensive research will reveal nothing new at all.

This year we'll continue to try to explain to people that Debra Tate was disowned by her family who would be appalled to find her at every parole hearing.

This year--- what do you hope for and expect?

From the last post, moved here: Anyone been to JimNY's officially closed blog lately? That thing practically ate my computer he is using so much bandwidth.

Also, anyone hip to any release dates of any of these new books that may be coming out this year?

Narliese: You are right; I went back and re-read teh letter, and it was "attorney" and "lawyer" and "court", not "judge" for Nixon. This running afoul of the man who would become president likely occurred in the early 1960s.

When would Nixon the lawyer have come in contact with Charlie? He was Eisenhower's Vice President until 1960 and then ran for president, when he lost to Kennedy, and by that time, when Nixon returned to practicing law, Charlie was in prison. The dates don't add up.

I think their only connection is Nixon's infamous guilty comment...1970 or so.

happy 2009, Col. I was disappointed to hear about BobbyB. 5 years is lame.

Am I understanding correctly that we are discussing the idea that Manson personally crossed Nixon in the early 60s and the trial was Nixon's payback?

I really thought I'd heard it all.

Manson now feels compelled to drag Tricky Dick into it now? Puhleeeze!

2009: 40 years after Tate-LaBianca, and only 10 after Columbine. Finally some solid info coming out about the latter:

Now if only the Manson book people could get as organized....

Noticed that I typo'd your name, Marliese, for which I apologize.

Nixon practiced law during most of the 50s and early sixties. Including family oourt. The possiblity that Charles ran into him isn't at all imposiible.

In 2009, I would like to see finally CM apologize for all the lies, sorrow and chaos he helped create around him and take more responsabilities for his personal involvement in the crimes ( coward sneaking up Waverly and torture of a defensless couple).
