The Col's BASIC FOOD GROUPS- Part One

I got accused of hypocrisy in the comments by some new readers who didn't go back and read previous posts.

So when challenged in the future I will post some of my BASIC FOOD GROUPS, ie. ideas and thoughts of MINE so that we can tag them and have them for handy reference in the future. This way instead of telling someone to go fuck themselves they can read for themselves.

#1- The Col supports release for Bobby Beausoleil and not Leslie Van Houten. Isn't this hypocritcal?

I say no. I will give you my reasons. These reasons are SOUND. You do not have to AGREE with them but they are valid and sound.

1- The most base and basic one is the following- Bobby denies nothing, admits his wrong doing and blames nothing on Charlie. This is crucial to me. Maybe he did not in the past but he does now. I cannot release a murderer who still contributes to the lies of the case. Leslie needs to say I DID it , no one MADE me do it, I did it cause I was young, bloodthirsty and stupid and I am sorry. It wasn't post mortem, I tied the woman up in her own home and put a pillowcase on her head and stabbed her and I AM SORRY. Until then I will support Bobby's release and oppose Leslie's. She still has the possibility of release just like evil Mark Turner might find bodies buried under Barker and I might shit gold.

2- Bobby's murder was in the heat of the moment. He was out of control and scared. He ran afterwards, left town. Leslie went in to a house, knowing she was going to commit murder, and boasted of it later. I see a difference.

3- Rosemary LaBianca was an innocent stranger. Gary Hinman was a fellow drug dealer. Does that make his life worth less? No. Is death a frequent side effect of dealing drugs? Yes.

These are my reasons. There is NO hypocrisy- it is well thought out.

Thanks for playing.

Even though I believe Leslie probably deserves a shot at freedom at this point, I agree with this assessment. There are differences between the various parties involved in these killings and I think those differences are important. Bobby's crime was quite different from Tate or LaBianca.

Hey Col did you know that Bobby has claimed to be the father of Kasabian's son?

Becca:

You seem excited at the prospect of LVH never being freed. Is that because you think her crimes deserve perpetual imprisonment (a sentence infrequently imposed or upheld, and in fact not the sentence imposed on her) or on account of some personal interest of yours?

Or do you think if she was let out she would go on the rampage?

I certainly wouldn't campaign for her release, but I find it hard to understand why anyone would rejoice in a fellow human being locked away for ever.

But I may be in a minority.

Well Col, thanks for posting the Basic Food Groups instead of telling me to "go fuck myself".
LOL !

Again with all due respect Col,sir,
Bobby B mentions nothing about a drug burn then decides to tell the "truth" 12 years later to a soft porn magazine ? I'm sorry, to me, that is no better than Susan Adkins telling the grand jury one thing and trial jury another and then deciding to tell the "truth" years later.

And I am still unclear ..was it a drug burn or was it getting money for Helter Skelter ?

Was it a drug burn just because Bobby said so ? Or is it fact now ?

Col said,"2- Bobby's murder was in the heat of the moment. He was out of control and scared. He ran afterwards, left town. Leslie went in to a house, knowing she was going to commit murder, and boasted of it later. I see a difference."

I respect that Col, but, in Tex's book,(I know you already know this but for those who dont)Tex writes in regards to what he knows about the Hinman murder:

When Bobby was finished, the three of them wiped down the walls for fingerprints (not very well, since several prints were later found), hot-wired the two vehicles and drove back to the ranch. Two days later Bobby returned to Hinman's to see if anybody had discovered the body yet. He came back gloating-word passed through the Family that he'd been able to hear the maggots crunching through Gary Hinman's bloated flesh.

That does not sound like someone scared and running to me.

I'm sorry, I just don't see it.

In my opinion, Hinman was murdered in just as heinous way as the TLB,
How can you really measure that anyway ? I don't know except, Hinman was also tied-up, slashed, tortured and finally stabbed to death...after DAYS ! Then again from what I have read, it was also Bobby who wrote in Hinman's blood.

And the only difference between Bobby B and Leslie is Bobby admits it all nowadays ?

I've heard LVH's parole hearings too and it sounds to me as if she admits her responsibility also.

Yes, sir Col, we will disagree on this one...but I do not believe it ignorance on my part..just different opinion.

And thank you Col, for letting me us play !

Peace !

The fact that Hinman was about a drug burn is mentioned in Sanders book in 1974

Very well, thanks Col.

...and, Sanders, that Fug, isn't exactly a a well of useful, pristine information...

I'd forgotten about the Fugs - great band. I still have some of their albums on vinyl - nothing to play them on, though.
