SACRAMENTO (AP) – The self-described right-hand man of cult leader Charles Manson who was convicted of orchestrating a pair of notorious slayings 42 years ago has his latest parole hearing scheduled Wednesday

Charles "Tex" Watson, 65, has been denied parole 13 times but will try again. Four relatives of Watson's victims plan to ask that his parole be denied for killing actress Sharon Tate, who was eight months pregnant, and four others at her Beverly Hills home on Aug. 9, 1969. The next night, he helped kill grocery owners Leno and Rosemary LaBianca.

"There's no question these were some of the most horrific crimes in California history in terms of the brutality, the multiple stab wounds, the gunshots, the large number of victims over a two-day period," said Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Patrick Sequeira.

Watson's attorney, Cheryl Montgomery, did not return repeated telephone messages.

Watson married and divorced in prison and has four children from conjugal visits, but his family did not respond to a request for comment that was left through the website that promotes Watson's prison ministry, http://www.aboundinglove.org.

The hearing will be held at Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, 50 miles southeast of Sacramento.

The website says he was raised in Copeville, Texas, north of Dallas, and headed to California in 1967 after dropping out of college. A brief biographical sketch on the site said Watson believed Manson "offered utopia, but in reality, he had a destructive world view, which Charles ended up believing in and acting upon. His participation in the 1969 Manson murders is a part of history that he deeply regrets."

A book he wrote while in prison is titled, Manson's Right-Hand Man Speaks Out! In the past, Watson has argued that he is a changed man who has been a model prisoner and no longer is a danger to the public.

He did not attend his last parole hearing in 2006 but was portrayed in a psychiatric evaluation at the time as "a very devout fundamentalist Christian … a young, naive and gullible man (who) got into drugs and bizarre company without appreciating the deviance of the company he was keeping."

Anthony DiMaria, a nephew of victim Jay Sebring, planned to contest that view of Watson and other Manson disciples.

"They've often been portrayed as these victims of Manson, and they are killers. They're mass murderers," DiMaria said in a telephone interview before the hearing.

He planned to attend the hearing with his mother and sister.

Debra Tate also was expected to speak to the two-member panel of the California Board of Parole Hearings on behalf of her late sister, who at the time was married to film director Roman Polanski.

Watson was convicted in a separate trial after Manson and three female followers were found guilty of the seven murders. Their death sentences were commuted to life when the U.S. Supreme Court briefly outlawed the death penalty in 1972.

DiMaria said his mother has considered it her mission to speak out on behalf of her brother.

MEMORANDUM AND ORDER

Tonya Christian filed this civil action seeking compensatory damages from Barricade Books, Inc. for defamation and invasion of privacy. Barricade moves to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction. (Doc. No. 12). For the reasons set forth below, I grant Barricade's motion.

I. BACKGROUND

Barricade, a New York corporation, conducts its book publishing business principally from offices located in New Jersey. The company has no New Hampshire offices. It does not have any employees or agents who work in the state. Nor does it target New Hampshire in its marketing efforts.

Christian, is a 35 year-old resident of Rochester, New Hampshire. She is the daughter of Linda Kasabian, a one-time follower of Charles Manson who, along other members of Manson's "family," murdered the actress Sharon Tate.

In 1999, Barricade entered into an agreement with Greg King to publish his book, Sharon Tate & the Manson Murders. The book is a biography of Tate which purports to describe the "[s]trange connections between Sharon Tate, the Hollywood elite and Charles Manson's so-called `family'. . . ." Def.'s Mot. to Dismiss. King makes the following statement about Christian in the book's epilogue:

On October 24, 1996, members of the Tacoma, Washington Police Department served a search warrant on the apartment owned by Kasabian's daughter Tanya [sic], known to authorities as "Lady Dangerous." Kasabian, as well as Tonya's two young children, were present when the police arrived. Their report stated: "In the master bedroom (defendant's bedroom) officers located a small baggie containing suspected rock cocaine and a large bundle of cash in a dresser drawer. On top of the dresser was a bunch of baggies. Also in the room officers located a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, ammunition, electronic scales, a plate with cocaine residue, and another bundle of cash . . . Tanya [sic], found guilty of possession of controlled substances, was sentenced to a year in state prison.

Christian charges that this statement mistakenly confuses her with her sister, Quanu and is defamatory because she has never been convicted of possession of a controlled substance.

CHARLES MANSON's 'Son' To Release
NEW RISING SON Album - Oct. 27, 2011

California-based act NEW RISING SON has inked a deal with the French label Deadlight Entertainment. The group's new album, "Honey", will be released in January. A song from the CD, "Rain", is available for streaming in the YouTube clip below.

NEW RISING SON is the band of Matthew Roberts, who claims to be son of notorious killer Charles Manson.

Now 43 years old, Roberts — who bears a strong resemblance to Manson — says his biological mother, Terry, revealed that she had been raped by Manson in a drug-fueled orgy back in 1967.

After his birth, his young mother gave him up for adoption.

"I didn't want to believe it. I was frightened and angry. It's like finding out that Adolf Hitler is your father. I'm a peaceful person — trapped in the face of a monster," Roberts told The Sun newspaper.

Roberts says he has confirmed his mother's story through letters with Manson, The Sun reported.

"He sends me weird stuff and always signs it with his swastika. At first I was stunned and depressed. I wasn't able to speak for a day. I remember not being able to eat."

A year after Roberts' birth in 1968, Manson and his "family" of followers committed nine murders in Los Angeles over five weeks, including the stabbing of pregnant actress Sharon Tate. She was the wife of film director Roman Polanski.

Fear Makes Us Stronger

There is a well acted indie film out there called MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE. The lead girl is an Olsen twin little sister and she does a great job as a damaged girl escaping from a cult in upstate New York. She also has a great rack. John Hawkes plays the cult leader and does an award worthy job. The movie itself doesn't add up to a lot but the two performances are exceptional.

A few reviews compared the cult leader to Jim Jones. Having now seen the film, the Col sighs and realizes that TLB is now less than a footnote to the public. Why?

- Hawkes seduces each girl and then sleeps with her, making it seem like a religious rite
- Each girl then helps the next girl get ready to be screwed.
- There is a cute young boy there to recruit girls for the cult.
- Hawkes hands a gun to one accolyte and says "Go ahead and kill me."
- The cult creepy crawls houses. Like for real.
- There is a great sequence as they jump off rocks into a swimming area that is filmed like in Hendrickson.
- While creepy crawling someone is killed.
- Hawkes using charisma to control Olsen and make her get over the killing. "For me."
- Hawkes has a long discussion with Olsen about "fear" and how it is a pure emotion and makes one aware. Fear brings you to NOW.

Anyway.... the film is clearly modeled on the Family, not Jonestown. I wonder why I think I am the first to point this out?

Commenters Comment and Matter Not

There seems to have been an explosion in the comments section of the previous post. A crazed cat lady that goes by the handle Vera Dreiser started attacking her betters by defending Orca Tate and thinking she could ever run logic rings around me, the Col. Then another fidjit named katie also starting defending Debra. Both mentally impaired posters then convinced themselves that they had "won" the argument. They did not. But in so doing they so confused everything that I feel the need to clarify the facts even though NONE OF THIS IS NEW.

1- Debra Tate was disowned by her family a long long time ago. I do NOT know why. I hear reports that Doris would chase her as a young girl around with Holy Water. Not sure which one of them is crazier in that case. She has NO relationship with any of the survivors of the Tate family. She was specifically and clearly disinherited from all wills that were ever drawn up. Again, I do NOT know why. I heard stories and have seen pictures of her at 16 nude with Pic Dawson at Cielo. There's a good reason. Trying to trade on her dead sister's name and posing for Oui, there's a good reason. I can offer a dozen more reasons. I don't know why she was disinherited but she was. Completely.
2- In retaliation for this Orca keeps the ashes of Col Tate someplace other than in the grave next to Doris where he wanted to be. This happened because Col Tate did not fill out a living health trust leaving the ashes to a more responsible party.
3- When Sharon died any publicity rights (which didn't come into being for another decade or so in California, but fine) went to Doris. When Doris died they went to Paul. When Paul died they went to a trust for Patti's kids and for Debra's poor child. Debra Tate does NOT own any rights to Sharon Tate's likeness, name or pictures.
4- Despite the 100% accuracy of #3 above, Debra Tate frequently goes around legally threatening people for using Sharon's name and likeness. This despite the fact that that she OWNS NOTHING.
5- Debra defended Polanski in his lawsuit against Vanity Fair. Fair enough, I think he was right. But in so doing she claimed that he treated Sharon very well and that she was not about to leave him. This is a false statement. Does she lie or again was she not involved in the Tate family even then?
6- Debra never had a moment alone with Charles Manson. She was not called by the police when Sharon was found. No part of her story of involvement is true.
7- Despite a false reading of the rules by Dreiser, you are not allowed to have unlimited people speak for the victims. This would become a free for all. Each family files a legal designated form with the Board. As the direct heir, Paul filed a form designating who is legally allowed to speak at the hearing. It is not his disowned daughter Orca. Now no one has ever enforced this designation. My post was only about hoping that someone would at the next hearing.

Personally I don't like Orca Tate. She is a liar, a bully and a fraud and not a very nice person. It does not sound, from stories I have heard, that she became that way because of her sister's killing. It sounds like she was always that way.

But I will not bow to the lunacy of cat ladies like Dreiser or mental midgets like katie. They are welcome to like Orca or NOT like Orca. They can comment or not comment. Personally they mean nothing to me. It is when they MAKE THINGS UP that they become a plague upon us all.

Orca Tate Dives for the Microphone Again

Here's an interesting fact one of the Debra worshippers can bring up next time they want to get their tongues up her voluminous buttcrack.

Debra Tate is not the designated victim's spokesperson for the Tate Family at Parole Hearings.

That's right. Not just anyone who says they are related to Sharon gets to show up and whine at Tex and Katie. Otherwise Rosie could bang on for an hour. The next of kin has to designate if they themselves are not coming who they want to speak there.

Up to this point, and after several grueling hours of Sea World training, Patrick Sequiera has become use to Orca. She says the right things and she claps for the tiny fish treats he gives her. Hell, he even let her speak at the Leslie hearing, although Leslie never even met old Sharon.

But while disinheriting Debra, Col. Tate, with one of his final breaths, made sure to stipulate who spoke at hearings for Sharon. And it was not his Oui photographed, mailman daughter.

The correct person has always chosen to let Orca have her say, although they have attended recent hearings themselves.

The Col hopes November 16th when Tex gets denied the CORRECT person speaks, and Orca gets sent back to the holding pen. Just maybe....

Why No Films?

With news that Scott Kosar finally dropped the option to the Family and the reality that not a single film that has been announced has started filming as of today, October 1, people always ask me the question "Why can no one make a good film out of what really happened?"

I don't know. I care about motive not films. But if you are sincerely asking my ass why no movies that are any good are getting made, I can offer a thought- is it possible that the BUG did such a good job with his fantasy version of what happened that it has in fact become the reality to people? Do people now think that Charles Manson had magic powers and made people kill strangers so that blacks would kill whites? Maybe.

The other possibility is that maybe the general public doesn't give a shit about this anymore. That I fear is really the case. They would rather buy Latin Love songs cds from the Bug that get to the bottom of the killings.

Suzan and Joe

I saw a posting on evilliz talking about how close Suzan Struthers LaBerge and BF Joe Dorgan lived to the Waverly Place address.

I have been to both. In fact could walk to both from where I am typing at this moment.

I never believed that Suzan had her parents killed. "Forgiving" Tex is a sure sign of deep mental instablity, yes. But she didn't order the hit, so to speak.

But let's speculate, shall we, on what might be possible.

These clowns, according to one story, tortured and killed Gary Hinman because someone said he had inherited a pile of dough.

IF Dorgan was a Straight Satan...IF he knew Tex...If IF IF...

Did Dorgan hang at the ranch and make mention that "I'm fucking this young chick, she lives next door to your boy Harold True, and her father is a piggy asshole but BOY is he loaded."?

Remember, Tex was the kill crazy one. EVERY version of the story has Charlie tying Leno and Rosemary up and then saying " DON'T DO WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY."

What if Tate was about a drug burn and getting money back?
What if LaBianca was about money?
Hinman easily could be about money.
Crowe was about money.

Motive wise, money makes relatable sense.

I can't establish any of this, but it starts to add up, doesn't it?

If I were an LA District Attorney in 2011 I would arrest Steve Grogan for the LaBianca murders. He was never even charged for being there. I would play it in the press for all it was worth. Prosecutor reopens famous 40 year old murder case. I would do it seriously, not as a joke. I would get the word out so that the others out there like Kasabian etc who have skeletons would shit a brick.

Then I would take Clem and his dimestore attorney aside and have a chat. "I am going to ask you 100 questions. If you answer every one of them to my satisfaction, I am going to let you plead to time served. Avoid one question, or make me THINK you did and you'll spend what's left of your life in jail."

According to the only information that we have, Bryn was a bodyguard to the drugdealing Bernard Crowe and tight with Dennis Wilson. Supposedly he was also picked up in the Spahn raid, although there are people who shout me down over this.

If Bryan IS Bryn then he is the guy on the right. Looks like one of the ComicCon dealers nowadays.

THe Nadir of Nader

Over at the fun evilliz blog there was a lot of discussion a few weeks back about the significance of Saladin Nader the "actor" (I guess so he was in two films no one can see right now... I guess Gypsy and Bobby are actors too, they were in more films than that.) and after reflecting a bit I finally tweaked to what the problem with him in the official story is.

We question things here at the only Official Blog and we double question anything BUG says.

The only testimony about Nader is from Kasabian. Nobody else ever addressed him. So what she says gets taken as gospel. Except we know she lied and back pedaled to save her own ass. She did exactly what BUG demanded. Was STILL doing it as recently as the Larry King show a few years ago.

Her testimony, as coached by BUG, serves two purposes

1- Shows Charlie OUTRIGHT ORDERING a murder.
2- Shows Linda being damn heroic preventing his death.

We know both of these are untrue. On neither night do we have ANY OTHER testimony of Charlie telling anyone to kill someone. And when given the chance to be a true hero and drop a dime on August 10, Linda does nothing of the kind.

So what really happened with the Nader incident? Venice is fucking FAR from Los Feliz. Why drive there to kill a piggy? It is even further from Sylmar!

My honest guess is that Linda VOLUNTEERED someone she would love to see offed. Got there and he wasn't there or she was too high to find the right door. And so they said fuck it and left. I mean, if you wanted to kill just ANY pig how about the poor bastard who answered the door?

Nader NEVER made sense in her version. Still doesn't.

The problem with Debra Tate is she has made it impossible to separate the damage and suffering that was no doubt done to her by the slaughter of her sister from her opportunism and narcissistic desire to be in the spotlight. Her appearance at hearings and her need to make it all about her goes back to when she frolicked nude at Cielo with drug dealers and let it all hang out for Oui Magazine. Remember, she was SPECIFICALLY disinherited by her father.

Los Angeles - On Thursday Debra Tate, the executor of her sister Sharon Tate's estate, talked to us about the recent burglary of her home. During the break-in Sharon's wedding dress, furs, and other items were stolen. Debra thinks she knows who was behind the theft but said she needs more proof.

There seems to be, by quite a few posters who use non de plumes in the comments, a basic intrinsic misunderstanding. They seem to think I give a shit what they have to say.

The great SF author Harlan Ellison once pointed out that everyone was NOT entitled to their own opinion. This is something idiots say all the time. Harlan points out that everyone is entitled to their own INFORMED opinion. I mean, if you asked me about your gall bladder I might have an opinion but it would be fucking nuts for you to listen to it, and not right for me to voice it at all.

I have done first hand research. I have talked to main players. I have read, and vetted the main books on the case. I don't believe that I even know what I am talking about. Why in the world would I accept what somebody called Poirot would believe as truthful, or even worthy of interest?

I have studied the novel Helter Skelter. I know what can be proven and what BUG made up. I know what Sanders got right and what he got wrong and what he didn't give a shit about.

I have blogged for many years and I was there back when Ronson and Nelson breathed.

If you want to PROVE something new, or different, then PROVE it. Otherwise stfu when you get mocked and ignored.

USE COMMON SENSE PEOPLE.

People don't sell clock radios door to door late at night.
Nine month pregnant women don't hang out in their bedrooms with former lovers late at night.
People don't start race wars with random killings that the cops never linked to a black person.
People don't slaughter strangers because some short punkass commanded them.

It really hit home when I did that tour with the Chicago Sun-Times lady. We would stop and I would point out stuff and it was fascinating her reaction.

THIS SHIT HAPPENED.

If this isn't a fucking movie, how come on here and Liz and Cats I always see quotes thrown around as if they fucking are accurate to the letter? They aren't. Do you remember what you said to someone word for word even yesterday?

Some of you throw quotes up as if to say "Haha, this happened." Like there was a fucking video camera taping the events. Like what the OJ jury needed.

Did Parent say "Hey I want to sell you a clock?" or "As long as I give you a good blowjob maybe you'll want to buy my clock." You think Garretson told the actual verbatim truth even if he rememebered?

Did Charlie says "Do something witchy" or "Leave something witchy" or "Go be witchy?"

If you have to hang onto a 42 year old quote to prove your point please go away.

Brain Washed or Dry Cleaned

The Col often takes inspiration from the comments and there was a big debate in there recently about brainwashing... how if you look at the photos and the docs and you can see that the girls were in fact slavishly eating up Charlie's bullshit.

I could not agree less. Have any of you people done any drugs at all?

If you look at both Hendrickson documentaries what you see are people out of their heads on drugs. Weed, sure, speed likely, who the hell knows what else.

You don't see people accurately brainwashed. In fact the most drugged out people in those are the "heroes" Watkins and Posten. These were young people partying and fucking in the desert. When you get faded, or do LSD which was in heavy rotation then, the most stupid shit sounds profound. "Because the world is round it turns me on". Heavy man. "Coming down fast twenty miles above you." Oh, wow. "There is an upside down river in he desert." Shit man, let's go.

Did Charlie "lead"? No doubt, he had 15 years on most of these people. Did he brainwash? Well not like the fucking Manchurian Candidate.

There's one theory I have which I have never sewn together that involves the kids need to please Daddy. It makes a lot of sense. Leaving aside Kasabian who never makes any sense in any fucking occasion, why send the other three to Tate? Because they owe him. Tex for drug burn, Sadie for bikers trashing Saloon, Katie because she fits in no where. So Daddy is pissed at Melcher and then shouts somebody should fucking do something.

And stoned out of their boxes, they do.

I really don't see evidence of brainwashing at all in this case. I do see a shitload of drugs though.

Later on during the trial I see brainwashing. But it could all be explained by the fact that the girls are scared out of their minds and only trust Charlie, and he is having fun putting on a show.

Bobby Finds Hope

Dear Relations and Friends,

I promised in my last open message to let you know if there were any developments on the parole hearing front. There have been some developments of note, and they appear to be significant, at least potentially. While I'm loath to predict what bearing they may ultimately have on my personal circumstances (we've been tricked before!), it does appear at present that the outlook is improving.

Before going into these developments, however, I want to apologize again to Joan for sending her email out in an open message, and to those of you as well who may have been confused upon receiving it. My appreciation for the kind responses that resulted notwithstanding, I regret the error and will be redoubling my efforts to insure that the privacy of persons on my mailing list will not be compromised in the future.

Now back to the parole hearing front. Please take a few minutes to review the attached article from the San Francisco Chronicle. Recapping briefly, several decades ago a misbegotten bit of tough-on-crime legislation put the California governor's office in the thankless position of having to approve each and every parole date granted to an inmate with any version of a life sentence. Needless to say, this made the parole hearing process extremely political, with the result that relatively very few prisoners with "life top" sentences have been paroled in the intervening 27 years, even in cases when the parole board had found the inmate suitable for parole.

As the article states, Gov. Jerry Brown has decided to use the governor's parole-veto option in a manner that is more in keeping with the original legislation - in only rare cases, in other words, when a genuine threat to public safety appears to be evident. Brown's track record to date bears this out. We can only surmise how much the $26 billion state budget shortfall and a federal court order to reduce the state's prison population by 40,000 inmates have influenced the stance he has taken on this issue. Not that this matters. Grace and blessings use what instruments are available.

To boot, the portion of the 2008 legislation that retroactively mandated triple the length of parole denial periods (from 1-to-5 years to 3-to-15 years) has been overturned by the California Court of Appeals. State prosecutors have appealed this decision, of course. Given the strong and persuasive language the court used in its decision to vacate the retroactive portion of the new law it seems unlikely that the state's appeal is anything but a strategy to buy some time.

Assuming that the court's ruling is affirmed by the California Supreme Court, the 5-year denial that resulted in my parole hearing last December will be modified. It seems I will soon need to begin preparing for a parole hearing likely to be scheduled to take place late next year.

The complexion of my situation appears to be changing. I attribute this to the collective power of your supportive intentions and actions on my behalf, for which I remain immensely grateful.

There are a lot of crazies out there in the TLB world. I don't mean blinded dickheads like Mark Turner. I mean actual crazies like JimNY Savage.

One of them was this bitch named WHEAT who used to post on a long defunct, retarded TLB board that I can barely remember. Not the Ronson one but one supposedly involving Sadie's former lawyer. She is batty, delusional, talks to wallpaper and doesn't know shit from shinola.

About once a year she shows up to say something retarded to me then goes away. I ignore her.

Yesterday she surfaced. She wrote "Tex is talking. LaBianca was a drug burn. Rosemary had the MDA in her dressing gown."

Now to be clear to the idiots like Poirot who read this blog-
I do not believe she spoke to Tex.
I do not believe Tex is "talking"
I do not believe for sure it was a drug burn.
I do not believe it was MDA.
I do not believe in the Tooth Fairy.

Okay?

But it got me thinking....

Hinman, MDA, alleged drug burn, person tortured and killed. Do you torture someone because he would give you some money you imagine exists? Or do you torture them because they stole from you, or you think they did at least?

Tate House- Frykowski, MDA, people killed and slaughtered, "Go to the Melcher House and Kill everyone", if not Frykowski, why not Melcher or one of the Golden Penetrators?

LaBianca House- don't know for sure about anything, but if the wife left a $2million dollar estate? Sources tell me this is wrong. But after tying them up the message was "you know what to do, don't be as messy." Which could mean "get the fucking drugs back bitches."

The police initially thought it was drugs. Drugs are EVERYWHERE in the story.

And yet people insist it isn't drugs?

It made me think and wonder- I have watched as each year TLB recedes more and more into the darkness of time and distant memory.

The cute Ouisch couldn't wait to emulate Katie and Sadie and Leslie. It is strong testimony that the "death trip" that Charlie preached seriously took hold with many in his family.

It is strong testimony ONLY that the youngest child at the ranch felt left out that she wasn't doing what the "cool" kids were doing. It says NOTHING about Charlie except in your head.
Ruth Ann was one of Danny's favorites so it is doubtful he was making that up.

Maybe the Bug colored up the facts to sell it to the jury, There is NO maybe about it. You lose all credibility when you state maybe. ALL the other attorneys say he made this shit up.but there is NO DOUBT Charlie was preaching an impending race war as well as the thrill and need to kill.There is plenty of doubt. For 42 YEARS folk have been trying to rewrite the TLB murders as a drug burn or mafia hit or Tex thing. For 48 years several dozen people have dedicated their lives to proving Oswald was not the lone assassin.what do you mean, prove? IT has been established through science that he could not have fired all the shots.
Even though I knew the case well because of my relationship with his daughter, I could never argue Lee's guilt/innocence on better than a 60/40 proposition. Why?
Because without a confession or eyewitness all you had was circumstantial evidence. And there was strong circumstantial evidence BOTH WAYS.
But one problem arguing for Lee's guilt was the lack of motive. Several who knew him testified he liked JFK. So why do it?
Because he was a miserable asshole with an enormous ego. He was seriously pissed off that the world did not recognize his greatness. He was convinced Cronkite should interview him, that the NY Times should publish his life story and so on. He had no friends, a love/hate realtionship with his wife, and hated his mother. But he was convinced of his destiny to be famous while living seperated from his family in a $7 a week boarding house and working a $2.65 an hour job packing books into cartons.
So when he read the leader of the free world was going to be driving right under his work window, maybe he thought...the world will know me now.
No motive, just an egotistical asshole determined the world should know his name.except of course he had motive...and Ruby was there to shut him up
Maybe, likewise, Charlie was convinced the Beatles should know his name and that he should be on the cover of Rolling Stone. Certainly his behavior at the trial was fantastically self-destructive, and self-promotional. He basically convicted himself with his antics. He was convicted of ordering the murders by a Prosecutor with a made up motiveBut maybe that is what he wanted all along - to show the world how little regard he had for it and how everyone should not just know him but fear him.

Col Scott...though I have the upmost respect for you, here is why I have always thought your obsession/hatred of the Bug and Helter Skelter was somewhat misplaced.
I simply do not believe that Vincent and HS were responsible for Manson being convicted of murderEven if I grant you this point (which I do not) the fact is by manufacturing motive and making shit up, the REAL reason why 9 people are dead is still obscured this many years later. I don't care about Charlie. I want to understand what happened. And the pathology of the Bug makes that almost impossible. I think Charlie Manson convicted Charlie Manson of murder.
The Bug put forth HS because a number of people, from Sadie to Danny to Al Springer to Watkins and others - told him that Charlie controlled everything and everyone in the Family and had ordered the killings. The Bug packaged the story in the Helter Skelter fairy tale.
But do you know, Col, if anyone ever did a comprehensive follow up with the jury as to why they convicted Charlie?That wasn't the norm back then. There are a couple of interviews I think but nothing comprehensive.
My belief is that it wasn't the Bug and Helter Skelter that convinced the jury, it was Charlie's own antics and outbursts during the trial that convinced them he was a certified sociopath.
And it was his leaping over the defense table and lunging for the judge that convinced the jury that Charlie was capable of violence.
And it was the girl's idiot robot behavior - their singing and head shaving and proclaiming that Charlie was Christ - that convinced the jury that Manson had a Svengali control over them and probably had it on August 8th and
9th as well.
One of the Great Questions that hovers over the TLB story is this...if Charlie had had a quality lawyer and had sat quietly at the defense table clean shaven and wearing a tie, and the girls had likewise behaved, would Manson have been convicted of murder? Or would he, like the obviously guilty OJ and Casey Anthony after him, have gotten off? Imagine Charlie walking around a free man these past 42 years. It could easily have happened.
But I am convinced Charlie wanted something more than his freedom.This is true. He wanted to be famous anyway he could. He wanted the world to know how little he thought of it. And he wanted everyone to know that he was the real deal, and everyone else was just a two-bit supporting actor. Charlie was the Oscar winner in his mind, everyone else was just an extra.I buy this
In short, I believe with all due respect Col, that the Bug and HS are really just a backstory to the TLB case. Charlie wanted the fame, or the infamy, more than he wanted his freedom. His behavior during the trial, and even in the countless interviews he has done since then, testify to that.
If you frame it in the old chicken and egg question....the Bug didn't make Charlie famous, Charlie made the Bug famous. And far more important and reknowned then the Bug should be.They both did everything possible to make themselves famous.

Motive Matters

People come up to me in the supermarket and they say "Col, seriously, who cares about motive. Isn't it enough that these savage killers are in jail for the rest of their lives? They don't even deny their guilt anymore, we got the right people, what do you want Col? WHAT???"

Usually I ask them to move so I can get some Bomb Pops and be on my way.

Look..... I will say it again for the 900th time.

Bug wanted to get Charlie.
Before the case fucking started he already has Tex, and all the girls. Physical evidence. Clear guilt. ZERO reasonable doubt. This wasn't Casey Anthony. Bitches did it.

But there is no glory for the Italian Milkman Stalker if he just convicts some killer hippies. If he can convict their leader who MADE them kill for him- that's every parent's nightmare. That's the six o'clock news every night for a year.

So even though he was not obligated to show motive, he pulled one out of his ass and made it stick. He still shows up on TV 40 plus years later to make sure nobody blows the story.

And because of this, the meme got out that Charlie was a dangerous devil. This suited Charlie so he took it. And ANY rational attempt to look into the case is colored by people who think you are sick for looking into it.

BUG put guilty people away under false pretenses and now his lies keeps the truth away from us.

That Old Gang Of Mine

One thing I always wonder, when I reflect on the nitty gritty of the case is how much the contemporary Family members look back on their old gang and whether it means much to them anymore.

If you conclude as I do that the whole mess was over and done with by the end of 1972 (some LVH and Squeaky shit to come but still) and it can only possibly start in 1967, we are talking five years of their lives, from a long time ago. Aside from Little Paul who barely got 40 years, and recently Sadie, surprisingly almost all the players are out there in the wind growing old. Which is incredible, really, if you examined say a group of 50 random people from back then you would think that many more were gone than just one or two.

But seriously, does Nancy call up Clem and reminisce about the orgies? Does Donkey Dick Dan drunk dial Ouisch and remind her she was the best lay he ever had? In between vaginal studies does Snake Lake track down Bruce Davis on Facebook?

Of the people I hung with back between my 18th and 24th year, I stay in touch with 4 or 5 of them still. The Col is 88 in Panda Years and this doesn't seem like too many or too few people. I went to a reunion once and as Charlie would have said, "they all got old on me."

You never hear about any of them still communicating. I wonder if they do.

Lots of time I read ignorant comments from half-assers like Poirot where they clearly don't know what happened and don't care. More importantly they are so anxious to believe BUGliosi, despite the fact that even the lawyers who worked with him didn't believe him, on the motive bullshit angle that they close their eyes as to why it matters.

It matters because if the BUG can make up a motive to put Charlie Manson away, they can do the same thing to you.

It matters because we deserve to know what happened those nights, for real.

It matters because the 7 victims deserve the truth about why they died to be known.

It matters for a fuck of a lot of reasons, but here's one that is STILL important-

The motive matters when rendering a decision about parole. If Katie killed over a drug deal gone wrong I'd have let her out in 1978... if she killed on command to start a race war I don't really want her around even now.

The motive matters. It definitely was not Helter Skelter. I want to find out what it was. I probably won't, but fuck off I am trying.

The Family That Slays Together...

There's an interesting anecdote in the first part of the new Hendrickson book DEATH TO PIGS that caught my eye. In it he describes watching as Nancy Pitman's mom came storming to Spahn Ranch (during the trials mind you) getting mental on her because she had borrowed a 35mm Camera and not returned it.

Fascinating story, with Nancy hiding in embarrassment and what not. Hendrickson tells the story in order to show that there were still family ties, and of course with what we know about some of them, he was right. Obviously Nancy remains close to her family today.

But wtf man, wtf? Mom wants a camera back, some piece of property, not her daughter who would later go into hiding in the sewers?

Different times indeed!

Did The Cops Give a Shit?

In DEATH TO PIGS Hendrickson makes a side remark at one point that a shitload of hippy bodies would show up every week in places like Topanga Canyon, to the point where people began to get annoyed.

This triggered a major thing that always bothered me about TLB. Is it possible, that right UP TO TLB, the cops didn't give a shit?

1- Zero clearly is murdered and the cops, by all reports, accept the bullshit Russian Roulette with a loaded gun excuse.

2- Crowe is shot and obviously had to go to the hospital, but you don't hear anything about an extensive investigation.

3- The other murders that Buglisoi tries to pin on the Family, like the Scientology students and Joel Pugh- does it feel to any of you like these were priorities for law enforcement?

4- Even Gary Hinman, which today would be first page news, doesn't feel like that big a deal. I mean, if they had properly investigated it they would have by DAY TWO tracked down Mary Brunner who used to live there for god's sake and had some idea. They only got a suspect because stupid Bobby slept in a stolen car.

It just feels like a few deaths were no big deal to the cops. Until the movie star got it in the stomach.

Some if this stuff happen today and there is NO WAY nothing happens.

Stupid? Ignorant? Lazy? Or Hiding Something?

No the headline doesn't refer to AC, Poirot or JimNy.

I was reading some of the new Hendrickson book last night, DEATH TO PIGS. It's a fun read for all 3 of us who care about the truth. Otherwise it simply summarizes interviews he has on film I would rather see as interviews.

So in one chapter the BUG shows up (like always) and Merrick and Hendrickson try to talk to him. He mostly talks over them.

In an interesting bit of mumbo jumbo BUG kind of admits that he isn't sure why Charlie sent Linda. That she didn't kill anyone but she must have known that killing was happening on the second night. That had Sadie kept her deal he still would have only gone after Linda for 2nd degree murder. He doesn't seem to really believe the "she had a license" explanation and speculates that maybe Manson loved her and wanted to lock her in to the group.

He also talks about the "why" go to 3301 Waverly and Merrick tries to point out that someone at the house had called the cops during a party at the True house next door, but BUG says he researched that and dismisses it out of hand.

Also much babbling as BUG says he'll appear on film for free he doesn't want no stinking $500 and then hey offer him $1000. He also hates on Sanders book quite extensively for not understanding the "significance" of these murders.

ANYWAY

This all got me wondering- WHY did BUG decide to make up the Helter Skelter motive?

1- To hide something because he did not like the real motive
2-He was too lazy to find the real motive
3- He was too stupid to figure out the real motive
4- Because anyone who would stalk his mailman for fathering his child is nuts and would therefore come up with a nuts motivation like Helter Skelter.

Personally I have always believed it was #4. That was what Aaron Stovitz personally told me at dinner- it was nuts and all the attorneys tried to stop BUG from being nuts. In the new book, they actually point out a quote where BUG admits that Jakobsen, Watkins and Brooks, when first interviewed, never mentioned the Helter Skelter bullshit AT ALL and that it took multiple interviews until they did. Plant much?

So anyway that was that - and then I started wondering about #1.

BUG barely made Melcher testify.
He did everything possible to control all witnesses. He still tried to control Kasabian on Larry King.
He allowed Charlie et al to go forward with weak lawyers.
He did regular interviews with the TV people.
He was determined to not only win, he was determined to get Charlie and bring the whole thing under his control.

It was almost as if he wanted to make sure NO OTHER MOTIVE was even offered.

Why?

What would he want to put a sock in?

Drugs? Maybe. LAPD had already speculated about this but maybe sure.
Copycat? Maybe, but I don't think he ever took it seriously, so why cover it up.
Black Book? Maybe but I don't even know what the fuck that means and it only surfaced as a real theory years later.

I don't know.

But it did get me thinking. I mean, IF he did cover up the true motive, what was it and why?

The Col always liked to believe that Charlie at least thought Terry still lived at Cielo. I mean the BUG Is easy to ignore and fucking Terry managed to say almost nothing while he was alive.

But assuming the validity of those notes, which admittedly were all jumbled (like notes usually are, right?) Charlie ASKED FOR TERRY'S ADDRESS. That is way different from "Hey, he no longer lives here" and Charlie is all in the middle of trying to impress big rep Rudy and doesn't hear. It is an actual response and acknowledgement that the guy has moved.

So if we accept that, then major possibilities are just gone. The house was chosen either due to seclusion or due to targeting one of the people there.

Leaving aside seclusion and realizing that we at the Blog deal with reality not fantasy- What is the chance that Charlie had a beef worthy of slaughter with somebody who just happened to be at Terry's old house?

Let's go further--- No one thinks Sharon is there. She isn't the target. If she isn't there then Sebring isn't either. So that leaves Abigail or Voytek as the target. I'm throwing down with the Pole. But if he is the target, what are the chances that Manson or a Rancher even knew the fucking guy?

I wonder if maybe while up there with Rudy he bumped into Voytek. One thing led to another, drug burn, revenge?

Rudy's Notes

So I met with this cool young filmmaker who made this great Manson doc a couple years back. He brought with him a book of Rudy Altobelli testimony that Rudy had given him. He let me copy it so we will be blogging it soon enough.

Inserted in the book was a 3 page very yellowed, old document that seems to be Rudy's notes for his testimony at trial. Some of it is very interesting to say the least.

On 2/23/69 he was getting packed and taking a shower and dog started to bark and Manson was in outside the house alone on the patio (between screen door and the front door) (Sharon was in front house getting packed)

He introduced himself and Rudy knew who he was and Rudy opened the front door and spoke to him but he did not enter the living room he had met the summer before and Greg Jackson wanted a ride to the beach (Dennis Wilson) and Charles Manson was there with people and a little boy –

Sat for a few moments, listened to tape of Manson playing music – stayed for a few minutes and left.

Manson asked where Terry was – He said he was in the front of the house and she said to come to the back since he was looking for Terry.

Sharon told Rudy on the plane that she saw Manson that day.

He told Manson he had to leave for a 1 year – clients to make movies

Manson said he was going also to make a movie and Rudy said yes, understand you are very talented

He also asked for Terry’s address

He then asked when Rudy would be back, he would like to talk to him again – Rudy said – over a year.

Rudy never saw Manson except at the house that once and at the beach. Maybe another time – don’t remember.

Roman moved in February 15, 1969.

Terry moved out in January 1969.

Roman left for Rio de Janero a day before or after Rudy called to obtain consent for Garretson’s to stay and told Roman he would take care of the dogs and keep guest house clean.

Garretson moved in on March 24.

Roman said Sharon was going to Rome also and that he would go with Sharon (Sharon was going to make a movie)

It never ceases to amaze. The trolls show up and people feel a need to respond. Or in one case pack up and leave.

I have a better solution- DON'T READ their bullshit.

AC Fisher Aldag, just for one example, is fucking wrong about everything she posts. Everything. If she told me the time I would assume she was off by 3 hours. There is nothing credible in anything she says.

Now do I read her stuff and say "Holy shit no, I've got to straighten her out?" Do I offer to interview her (hi Patty!)? Do I deal with a deep seated need to be right and therefore ban her?

I do none of these things. And here is why.

I can just see her name and skip her post, secure in the knowledge that nothing she says makes sense.

I don't have to prove she is or is not a racist, like Liz's site is doing. I KNOW she is wrong about everything. That allows me to skip anything she says.

But I still allow her to say it, because it doesn't disturb our task.

But Sadie was of course at the LaBianca house. I mean for FUCK'S SAKE, every single person there said so, including Sadie.

Ignore the trolls. You'll be happy you did.

A Simple TimeLine

1- Bobby Kills Gary, over money or a drug deal gone wrong. He and the girls get the "bright" idea to leave bloody writing on the wall.

2- Bobby is arrested sleeping in the car he took from his victim. (Genius!)

3- The Ranch People get unhappy. "Didn't Charlie send him there? What is Charlie going to do about it."

4- Charlie knows he was there- what will Bobby say about him?

5- Charlie, the five foot two punk, realizes that not only with these people fuck like he directs, they might even kill if the situation is correct.

6- The Girls, Leslie and Kitty and others, start floating the idea- other similar killings with writing on the wall, Copycat Murders, they will realize they have the wrong guy with Bobby. This makes ZERO sense, they have Bobby dead to rights, but let us assume the girls believe this. This also means they start to get all up in Charlie's face- WHAT are we gonna do about this Charlie?

7- Tex burns Crowe. Crowe kidnaps Rosina. Charlie shoots Crowe.

8- Charlie now concerned about what HE has done. HE might go back to jail. Maybe the Black Panther fear, maybe not. Either way, Crowe HAS TO retaliate, right? (Still confounds me that he did not.)

9- Charlie takes off for Big Sur.

10- Charlie returns, Bobby in jail getting impatient, Mary and Sandy arrested for Sears fraud, girls leaving, and worst of all that motherfucker Melcher is NOT coming through on the goddamn record deal. HE Is the cause of all our problems. You know, somebody should go up to his fucking house where we all have been many times, where he had his Golden Penetrators Club Meetings, and just kill him and every fucker up there. (rantings, musings).

11- Tex who owes Charlie big time (Crowe) and Sadie who owes Charlie (leading Bikers to Ranch who shut down Night Club) along with Katie who craves love and Linda who by all accounts was super down with everybody, go to Cielo and do what Charlie was screaming about.
[[Alternate 10 and 11- Charlie is fucking pissed off because of drug burn by Frykowski and has the same rant with the same result. OR, TEX has been burned, decides to go to Cielo and gets Charlie's permission who suggests " Something Witchy."]] Sadie, remembering Hinman, thinks you are supposed to write in blood on walls and writes "Pig".

12- Killers return to Spahn with naked Charlie and Nancy dancing. Tell Charlie. He and others (Clem? Nancy? Bruce?) return to Cielo. Holy Fuck.

13- Convinced that the only thing that might save his ass from jail IS the asinine idea of Copycats, Charlie assembles the same team of killers, adding only LVH who cannot wait to join the team, and drives around for hours looking for the best place to stage a copycat. Changes his mind repeatedly, finally going next door to a place he already knows. Sets the stage, assuming his team will do the job, which they do in spades.

14- We need an answer as to why it stops and the best I have is- MONDAY- the press is going fucking nuts about Cielo. CRAZY about Cielo. Los Feliz is mentioned. BUT NOBODY IS CONNECTING THE TWO, OR HINMAN. I mean if you had 3 killings in LA TODAY with blood writing on the wall you would see screams of a crazed killer on the loose. But there is NO LINK. This Copycat shit isn't working. On the other hand, no one seems to be coming our way either. Let's take a beat. Charlie knows from ex-cons that you keep going, you get busted. Cops come ten days later, but for car theft and they walk! Charlie is thinking that was a close call, and they leave town, like out of an old Western.

15- Shorty obviously buys it because he called the Raid and maybe knows some shit- I mean the actual living area of the Ranch was not that big. He could have easily heard shit. Anyway, unfinished business, he goes.

I do not say that the above is true.
I do not say that I agree with the above.
I do say that there are no logical problems with the above timeline. It makes HUMAN sense.

My worries with the case are always "Why the LaBiancas?" and "Why stop after them?" Having learned that master researcher Tom O'Neill has not been able to establish that Rosemary actually did leave a $2m estate, then LaBianca seems completely random. And if we reject the insane motive put forward by an unhinged District Attorney, then logic is all we have.

I've been amazed by two facts regarding Charles Manson:

One of his first arrests was in Peoria.

There's scant information about his activities here.

In the Journal Star morgue, we have only two short stories about his local doings.

It's small potatoes compared to the Tate-LaBianco murders for which he's doing life at California State Prison in Corcoran, Calif.

The stories say that in 1949, the 16-year-old Manson and another youth broke into Waugh's Market, 3919 SW Adams, taking $1,200.

On March 22 of that year, Peoria police got a call someone was breaking into Earl Johnson Chevrolet on Main Street.

As a squad car pulled up to a side door, Manson, thinking the police car was his getaway car, ran from the building and jumped in the squad car.

Within seconds, he was looking at two pistols in his face. His reaction: "Ah, (expletive)! "

I wanted to know what brought him to Peoria and what he did here, so I dropped him a line.

I got his address from a California prison spokesman, who said he doubted I'd get a response. He was wrong.

My letter came back with messy yet legible cursive scrawl on the front, back and margins.

Though the spelling and grammar are poor, (Manson admits, "I dont spell . . . in English to good"), the response was cordial and devoid of expletives.

What follows is the letter, nearly unedited except for grammar and spelling changes. The parenthetical additions are mine.

I ran out of Boys Town, stole a car in Lincoln, Neb., and rolled to Idaho. I stole a hearse, (a) meat wagon, (and) ran with a kid.

Went to the Peoria housing projects, where his uncle ran the numbers out of Chicago.

We took a safe box -- 500 pounds -- and threw it off the bridge onto the railroad tracks and did a lot of underworld stuff.

That town's always been good to me. It's not too big like L.A. or St. Louis, yet big enough to get lost in.

The cops got me for a lot of money two times. I wrecked the hearse and they send me back to Indiana reform school.

I was never a real kid. I grew up myself, fast, and was raised by the underworld and monks and sisters in the boys' homes.

Me and Blackie buried a lot of rings, gold watches from a jewelry-store heist. I guess he went back and got it because we got split up.

Yeah, I did a lot of growing up in that town (Peoria) -- fast growing up. They put me in the jail last time I went through there. . . .

It may sound foolish, but that town has always been sweet for some reason.

I'm not sure where Manson and his buddy Blackie dumped the safe and buried the jewelry. Maybe Manson can clear this up.

He wrote that the Journal Star stories I had sent him weren't with the letter, and he'd like to see them.

"Send and I'll respond," he wrote.

What happened to the stories?

"It's very possible someone in the mailroom in the prison took the clips as a souvenir or whatever," wrote Sandra Good, who sent along Manson's letter to me.

I assume this is the same Sandra Good who was a member of the Manson family and once roomed with Squeaky Fromme, who once tried to kill Gerald Ford.

Why would Manson send the letter to her first, instead of directly to me? Maybe to save a stamp, or maybe she's his press agent.

I don't know; her number's unlisted. I'll ask about this in my next letters to both of them.

And maybe we'll find out if he left any hidden treasures during his short stay in Peoria.

So my spirit was kind of crushed because I had gone super out of my way for this lady from the Chicago Sun Times and I am not sure what happened but let's just say that something did and at the end I felt very taken advantage of. Which is fine, The Col is an internet tough guy, but it did dispirit me from posting for a while.

But I am back and not much has changed. None of those four movies have been filmed because I said they wouldn't. No one has been released because I won't let them out. AC was interviewed by the evilliz site and she makes as much sense as cotton undies on a Moose. But the summer is almost here and I had a Mansonian thought.

How fucking hot must it have been at Spahn Ranch the morning after the murders. We know it was fucking hot and fucking dry but how fucking hot? Degrees must be listed somewhere.

We know the 8th it was boiling, which is why Sharon is in panties and bra.

If it is that hot people are sweating massively. There is no AC at the ranch. The heat in that desert can drive a bitch crazy. And there are horse turds rotting everywhere stinking the joint up, with the sweaty people who don't bathe running around.

We know the killers showered at the LaBiancas. And hosed off after Tate. Probably not for just the blood.

So my thought, my wondering...

How did Tex leave so little evidence? I mean he left some prints, but he was sweating like a dog. How did the girls leave so few prints. I know they "wiped up" but this was no brain trust. How did they leave so few prints? How did they manage to chase people across lawns in that heat.

I think for the first time the heat started me thinking.

Five Years Ago to the Day

Five years ago today we asked about Carl/Karl Stubbs right HERE.

In the book FIVE TO DIE they imply that Katie was somehow involved in this murder. November 12, 1968 it SEEMS that the attack happened. Well before Tate LaBianca.

Now over on the Evil Liz blog, the freaky lawyer who is pretending to help Charlie implies that it is TEX who killed Stubbs.

It is necessary for us however, to touch on one issue that may be important for your considerations. The Prosecutor at the trial produced to the jury the so called theory of ‘helter skelter’ namely that the Applicant may not have told his co-defendants to murder anyone but in a kind of extra-terrestrial manner influenced their minds to murder. It is a fact that the co-defendant Tex Watson was the perpetrator of a number of the murders committed. There is however, now evidence from a California Police Officer that Tex Watson may well have committed murder some nine months prior to any of the killings which if correct would destroy the theory of the Prosecutor that the co-defendants murdered by the mind control of the Applicant!; Tex Watson was seen following a man named Karl Stubbs to his house and that man was later found dead on 9/15/1968 in Olancha, California. This the verbatim statement from the California Police Officer as below:; “I have another murder that I want to tell you about. The victim is an 80 year old man named Karl Stubbs who was killed November 15, 1968 in Olancha, Ca., almost a year before Tate/LaBianca/Hinman/Shea. A witness identified Tex Watson in 1970. There were also two unknown girls there when Karl was beaten. The murder was not followed up on. Why? Because Charlie was nowhere near Olancha then and it would show that Tex is the serial killer. There is no way the Bug could have convinced the jury that he had total mind control on everyone back in 1968!; I spoke to the witness that lived behind Karl. She told me that Karl crawled to her trailer and told her husband that there was a boy and two girls that came in his house demanding money. Every time the boy would kick him in the head the girls would laugh. The witness said that Karl was totally lucid but he could not see. He died hours later. A year later, Tex Watson confessed the Tate/LaBianca murders to Diane Lake while there were in Olancha. Olancha is the gateway to the Barker Ranch via Hwy 190.; The case was investigated by the California Department of Justice. Tom interviewed the investigator who said that the investigation "fell through the cracks". It was not until Tex was finally extradited from Texas, after everyone else was tried, that the clerk at the store recognized Tex on TV as one of the kids that followed Karl home from the store. It is unknown if this was ever reported to Law Enforcement.; To this day, DOJ will not do anything with this case. (I have talked with them). Why not?????; It would show that Tex was killing people almost a year before, independently on his own, as well as two of the girls. That would not support the Bug's Helter Mind Control/Helter Skelter theory.; Olancha is a very small town. Gas Station, Store and one restaurant. About 500 people scattered over many square miles on ranches. It was not local kids. The Hannum Ranch is in Olancha. David Hannum worked at the Spahn Ranch in 1969 and the family used his mother's ranch in Olancha to park a semi trailer full of supplies and use it as a base.”
Fascinating to me this guy. They are right of course in their assertions though they won't get anywhere. And he does leave it open that it could be Tex AND Katie.

Now I went to The Munch Box for the first time almost ten years ago with blog friend Jason (Hi Jason!). It was shut then. The information on this place was learned from Mark Walts' brother who as you know for a time hung with our Favorite Family. We all know the story about how our fearless Vegans would often need some hot meat injections, right? Well this is where they went. A quiet hamburger stand less than ten minutes away from the Ranch down on Devonshire. Apparently there was a way that you could ride dune buggies right up to it back in the day. The Munch Box is across the street (and slightly to the left) from a Ralphs, which used to be the Gateway where they dumpster dived, and across the street (and slightly to the right) of the Candy Cat where Sadie would show her tits.

Jason had last been at the Box with Bill Nelson, which would make anyone lose their appetite.

I had a double with onions and a Root Beer. It was very tasty.

Always is Always Forever, Spahn Part 3

It's very nice to hear from you, as your remarks are uplifting and encouraging. Everyone concerned has felt disappointment over what happened in the parole hearing, and this is certainly understandable, but really, it is only a bump in the road. Defeat is in the mind. I will never buy off on the judgment of someone like the commissioner on the parole board who believes, wrongly, that he has the power too impose defeat on someone who appears before him. How absurd!

I will never give up, Joan. And in fact I've decided to file for clemency to the governor. Only because standing my ground is the right thing to do. Whatever the outcome, standing my ground is a duty I have to a higher power.

Meanwhile, my book is coming along. I got past the "mental block" I was struggling with, and the words are now flowing well. It may be catharsis on a grand scale. We'll see.

Dear Bobby and Barbara, I apologize for taking so long to write.

I am very disappointed in the outcome of the so called hearing. We know how corrupt and narrow minded many people can be. I again am very impressed with your attitude and outlook.

I do agree with Barbara in that I don't think you will have a fair shot at these hearings unless people do hear the truth from you. People will only go by what they have heard and read in the media and as you know better than I, it is very one sided and its only goal is to sell regardless of the truth.

I will still hold on to the hope that you will be set free and be reunited with your wife and loved ones outside of prison.

I am grateful for your correspondence and in many ways you will never know how much you have helped me. Anytime I get depressed about my life I think of you and gives me a reality check. I can honestly say I've had a hard life compared to most of the people I come into contact with but I know very well many have it so much worse than I could ever imagine. This makes me feel ashamed at times for feeling alot of the things I feel but I am human and my imperfections are many.

I really appreciated the letter you wrote and I hope we can stay in touch as I do enjoy it find it inspirational.

One has to have some idea what one is doing when you come to Spahn's Ranch. The property is owned by a Church and they don't exactly offer tours. There are no NO TRESPASSING signs on the property so I guess you could claim you got lost or something.

When you come to the main location, opposite Rocky Peak, you immediately realize how SMALL the main ranch actually was. There was a lot jammed in to a very small space.

But then you scuttle down the back towards the stream and you start to get your FAMILY on!

Obama takes heat from ... Charles Manson

But we don't think President Obama will be too upset over being attacked by Charles Manson.

Obama is a "slave to Wall Street," says Manson, the cult leader who is serving a life sentence for conspiracy in the 1969 murders of actress Sharon Tate and others (the basis for the book, Helter Skelter).

Manson tells Vanity Fair Spain: "I think Obama is an idiot for doing what he does. I do not know how you were able to cheat to get there. Not realize what they are doing. They are playing with him."

Manson reportedly spoke in Spanish.

So we don't know if his odd comments reflect a poor command of the language, a bad translation -- or simply the ravings of a very, very weird individual.

Charles Manson is normally the boogeyman attached to the Tate-LaBianca murders, but Manson didn't even set foot in either crime scene. He sent his "family" to do the dirty work for him. The Manson Family legend is one of the scariest and most fascinating in true crime, yet the focus frequently is on Manson himself. Writer/director Susanna Lo is set to change that with her film, Manson Girls, which will tell the stories of followers such as Sadie Atkins, "Squeaky" Fromme, Linda Kasbian, and Patricia Krenwinkel.

We chatted with Tania Raymonde (Death Valley, Lost) about her role as Leslie Van Houten, and what sets this film apart from other Manson films.

Tell us about the movie.

Everyone knows about the Manson story. Everyone has seen the movies and read Helter Skelter. This is a very different take on the Manson story. The focus is exclusively on the girls. The focus is on the girls' life before Barker Ranch, how they met one another, and then them living as a family together on the ranch. The movie ends a minute before the first murder. You never see any of the murders. You only hear about Sharon Tate vaguely, but you know it is coming.

Not only that, but you never see Manson. You only hear him off-screen talking to the girls. It is really about the girls interacting with one another, discovering things for the first time. Sexually, emotionally, spiritually. It's about seeing how these girls could be manipulated into going down a path that would lead them to murder someone. It's more of a psychological thriller, showing how the girls got to that point. I'm very excited about it.

Have you started shooting yet?

No, we start in about two or three weeks.

Will you be shooting at the actual Barker Ranch?

We were thinking about it, but logistically there are problems with that. Plus, the actual ranch was burnt down. I think we will be shooting in and around LA for the first week or two, then we are going down to Puerto Rico for the rest. That will be our desert.

That's got to be intense. Manson's manipulation was astounding.

Yeah. You also find out a lot about the girls' personal lives. No one ever thinks of the girls as people. You are so horrified by this awful thing they all did, and it colors your perception of who these girls were. A lot of them came from interesting backgrounds. Weird stuff happened to some when they were young. All that stuff, combined with living at the end of the 1960s, the political movements of the time, really molded them into the women they would become. That was one of the reasons Manson picked these girls. It's interesting to see the way these girls interact with one another. A lot of people just don't know about them, or about peripheral murders and dramas that happened on the ranch. For once, it tells the Manson story but doesn't exploit the murders or rehash the horrible things done to Sharon Tate and the LaBiancas. It's just about how these girls were manipulated. It's creepy, but there is something interesting about it.

Did you do a lot of research for the role?

I've been reading everything I can find. The great part about playing a real person is that I can go on YouTube and look up interviews of Leslie when she was young, when she was old, all her court hearings. She is an enigma. There is a lot that I don't think people know about Leslie. I think it will be interesting to play a real person, and get to the core of her. It's scary. The whole Manson thing, the murders and his ideology... it really frightens me. I'm really scared by that kind of stuff, and I think that is why I wanted the part. It scares me.

Apparently the girls stabbed Sharon Tate and her friends like 55 times, then took a shower in their bathroom and ate a watermelon from their fridge, then drove home, had sex, watched TV, and just had a laugh. But they weren't bad girls. Some were abused, but some weren't. They were normal kids. But there was just something about Manson that allowed him to completely brainwash them. It's really creepy. I do wonder what it will be like to get to that point, mentally.

It's going to be especially weird, since in the project I am just wrapping up, my character is very focused, very goal-oriented, and kind of a badass. Then I am going to play a brainwashed, head-in-the-clouds hippie. It's going to be strange. But fun.

Charles Manson Breaks 20-Year Silence, Warns Of Global Warming

Charles Manson, the notorious cult leader, has broken his 20-year silence, and is speaking out about global warming.

Manson, now 76 years old, was accused of brainwashing members of his commune known as “The Manson Family." He was jailed 40 years ago for orchestrating the murders of eight people -- carried out at his instruction -- including Roman Polanski’s pregnant wife, Sharon Tate.

The Telegraph reports that during a recent interview with Spain’s Vanity Fair magazine, Manson warned of a danger that he thinks is greater than himself -- global warming.

Manson said, "Everyone's God and if we don't wake up to that there's going to be no weather because our polar caps are melting because we're doing bad things to the atmosphere… The automobiles and fossil fuels are destroying the atmosphere and we won't have air to breathe.”

A Thought or Three about the Bug

I mean, people in the DA's office knew about the trouble with the milkman. Laws were broken and one would think the BUG barely kept his position.

So I follow why Stovitz gets knocked off the game board for yakking his mouth too much- but does BUG get it because he's just standing in the on deck circle? I repeat- people, higher ups, must of known he was off center to say the very least. Yet he steps up during the crime of the century.

A reader tells us that the third guy from the right in the photo is Bryn Lukashevski.
The guy next to Danny DeCarlo, who is dressed differently from everyone else.
Maybe Cats or someone with the caption for this photo can confirm this. Or maybe check against the arrest records.

We need to confirm this first.

If this is true, then a guy who was Lotsapoppa's bodyguard, who was best friends with Dennis Wilson and told him about the shooting, this guy is arrested at Spahn two weeks after the murders. Looking a bit dressed up like he was paying a visit.

What does this mean? I don't know yet but it is pretty fucking crazy.

1- He owned 10050 Cielo Drive before, during and after the murders.
2- He did send Roman Polanski a bill for damages done to the house while renting it.
3- He was a music and film agent representing many luminaries of the day.
4- At one point he repped Christopher Jones, lost movie star who claims to have had an affair with Sharon Tate that probably did not happen.
5-Sold the house and watched as it was razed
6- Did not talk about what happened.

He has been cremated. No services have been planned. The LA Times has not even reported this. Not even a blaring "EX AGENT WHO OWNED MURDER HOUSE PASSES."

If you believe that Drugs played a bigger part in the crimes that the BUG wanted to admit then you are forced to follow a myriad of alleyways that all seem to go no where.

Pic Dawson is cleared by LAPD, and rightly so. Same with Billy Doyle and Tom Harrigan.

But I keep wondering about Bryn Lukashevski and to a lesser extent Dale Fimple (no that's isn't a disease).

But if you are a student of the case this guy will bother you. Why does Dennis Wilson finally disown Charlie? Because he hears of the Lotsapoppa shooting. How does he hear of it? From his close personal friend Bryn Lukashevski. How did Bryn know of it. He was there. He was one of Crowe's bodyguards. And a close personal friend of Dennis'.

Do you see what I see? There is a chunk missing, but it is a big chunk. It is like the connection is close but then it slithers away.

Bryn bodyguards a bigtime drug dealer whose house is less than ten blocks away from Mama Cass' where Pic Dawson hangs out and deals. Pic likely deals for Voytek. Mamas and Papas. Beach Boys. Celebrity. Drugs. Debra Tate's underaged nude fotos taken with Pic.

1- The Family-based on the book by Ed Sanders except not really since the book is just a bunch of newspaper articles strung together and typed up by mongoloids. OOO ee OOO indeed. Screenplay by the guy who wrote the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake (dear god!) Scott Kosar. Tells the story mostly through the eyes of Snake Lake, because, well, no fucking reason. Screenwriter poor, accuracy in the garbage, weak project overall. Been floating around Hollywood for at least 8 years maybe longer. Recently attached Ryan Kwanten from True Blood and nobody cared. Decent pedigree by Hollywood standards. Kosar wants to direct and well, isn't a director. About once a year they throw this up a tree and see who will salute it. Not gonna happen.

2- The Manson Girls- now EYES OF A DREAMER- shitty script that is an abomination against god and man. Originally written by Matthew Bright who was going to direct it. Now apparently some photographer who doesn't direct is going to direct it. Tells the story through the eyes of Nancy Pitman and along the way tries to make her into a nice guy. You know, by ignoring all the bad shit she did. Wyman stirred shit up years ago by offering the role of Nancy to Lindsay Lohan. She accepted it in between lines of blow then forgot about it. No one has bothered to mention that the new director is screwy. Wyman, apparently upset that this shitfest hasn't been filmed yet, recently "offered" the role of Sharon Tate (about 3 pages in the script I have) to Lindsay Lohan. Lohan is looking at jail time and is not bondable for a film, but the offer got Wyman more attention. Too bad the film won't be happening anytime soon.

3- The Manson Girls- shitty script by a half assed filmmaker, we started to review it and then vommed in our hat. Samantha Lo Mein is directing. Tells the story ...well it doesn't. There are made up girls and bs incidents. There is some socialite that isn't real and she tells part of the story. The chick that wrote this is nuts. She offered the roles to all sorts of actresses who are too old and wrong for the part and she didn't have the money for the film. I think she thought the fairies would finance it or something. Prognosis- doesn't matter how low the budget, the script is NONSENSE and the film won't be happening soon.

I remain deeply grateful for the support I’ve received from all of you, in all the various ways each of you has given it. Some of you have written letters to the Chairman of the California parole board, and I decided to write one to him as well. You can read what I wrote to him below.

With this I am letting go of all this parole hearing business. In the letter I said what I felt there was a need to say regarding the circumstances and fairness (or lack of it) in the hearing, while being fully aware that fairness has become severely marginalized in the justice system of today.

I am fully aware, moreover, that all of this arises out of past actions. Blaming my circumstances will only imprison me in them. The hearing decision is due to become final in April. Resources required for appealing the hearing procedure violations in the courts are unavailable to me, and even if they were there is only a slim chance that such litigation efforts would produce beneficial results. The obvious course, therefore, is to cut my losses and sweep the parole hearing baggage out of my path so I can move ahead with the work there is to be done.

Of course, if there are any significant developments in any of these areas you will hear from me. Thanks again for your love and support.

Dear Mr. Doyle,

This letter is in regards to my most recent parole hearing, which took place on December 13th 2010.

What occurred in this hearing has deeply troubled me and the people who care about me. While I understand, and fully accept, that the Board of Parole Hearings no longer has a formal appeal process, I feel compelled to bring to your attention the abnormalities that arose in the hearing. In your capacity as the Chairman of the BPH, you may have reasons to share my concerns.

As you probably know, I have been continuously incarcerated for a life crime since August of 1969. Since then I have had about twenty parole hearings, so I’m very familiar with the hearing procedures.

In earlier hearings I was always permitted to make statements relevant to the events and circumstances of the crime, and what significant developments have occurred since that tend to demonstrate acceptance of responsibility and changes in personal orientation. In my hearing this past December I was on several occasions prevented from making statements pertinent to the hearing process. Most egregiously, I was not allowed to finish making a closing statement I had prepared for the hearing. This statement was intended to relate, in terms leaving no uncertainty, my acceptance of responsibility to the victim and remorse for my participation in actions directly resulting in his death.

This dismaying development is inconsistent with my experiences in prior parole hearings. I am unaware of any changes in lifer hearing procedures that would support disallowing an inmate from making statements pertinent to the hearing process.

During his remarks in the decision phase of the hearing, the presiding Commissioner put a great deal of emphasis on crimes I did not participate in, and could not have participated in due to my imprisonment at the time they occurred. Despite there being no allegations ever brought to suggest my involvement in these other crimes, they seem to have been a primary justification for a 5-year denial. In no hearing previous to this one has it been suggested that I should be held to account for crimes I could not have been involved in committing.

I understand that prison inmates with life-top sentences have no entitlement to being granted parole. However, it is also my understanding that inmates appearing before the BPH are entitled to a fair hearing. In light of the foregoing, which is plainly evidenced in the transcript of the hearing, I fail to see how my hearing last December meets even the minimum standard for fairness by any reasonable measure.

There was once a great site which was called THE MANSON FAMILY TODAY. It was run by a great guy named Bret in Iceland. He exposed convicted murderer and still uncharged LaBianca conspirator Steve Grogan as Adam Gabriel, SF Band Member who played children's parties. He sent the Col cool vids too, including one of the girls on the corner actually making Bobby's vest, which the Col owns.

Bret died of drugs. It is a shame.

I have been offered the opportunity to host his old site but I have declined. I only care about mine. I am selfish.

Welcome back to the ONLY Official Blog that dares to ask the question "Why were nine people savagely murdered and do the people in jail really belong there." This is of course a murder case from FORTY THREE fucking years ago. Yet, because everyone involved was so damn young at the time, precious few of those associated with the case (except of course the victims) have passed away.

I am your host, ColScott. I started this blog many moons ago after being repeatedly banned from lesser sites. These sites tried to coddle the memory of the victims. They took the garbage spewed by BUGliosi in his novel HELTER SKELTER as God Given truth. They didn't want to hear about Debra's disownment, Garrettson's mental breakdowns, or BUGliosi punching out his mistress. They just wanted to oogle fucking Ouisch, or worse, pretend to be her. If you wish any of those things, the Official Blog is NOT the place to do so.

This Blog will do many things. Discuss obscure aspects of the case. Update you with news you might have missed. Argue about whether retards like Jim in New York should be allowed to breathe MY air. But everything we do here is in the service of one thing. Figuring out what REALLY happened. 9 people remain dead and the lying, full of shit prosecutor made up a motive and spoon fed it to Grandma. I want to know why they were killed. For reals.

Now I may never know. It was a longass time ago and a bunch of people want to produce bad screenplays and make more shit up. And worse, the people who DO know haven't said boo in decades so I can't count on them now. But dammit, if we don't try who will? Bret? Heaven? Mark Turner? Evidently not.

The TLB crimes remain a central crime of my lifespan. People remain fascinated with what happened this many years later. They do so BECAUSE of the lies that we seek to unravel here.

Officials at California State Prison, Corcoran tell us the visit occurred on Sunday morning -- the day before V-Day -- because no visitors are allowed during the week.

We're told Manson is "very choosy" about who he meets with -- and rarely accepts visits -- but for some reason, he gave the green light to spend time with a certain lucky lady.

Officials wouldn't reveal the woman's name -- but we're guessing she probably wasn't Jewish ...

The Manson Girls By Lo...a review Part the First

It took me a minute to get a copy of this script, since most people don't believe the film will even happen. The COL wanted to review it for you, so you can see a trend here of people not respecting the material enough, leading to a shitty script that never gets made for obvious reasons. But good God, mother in heaven, Holy Jesus Christ on a Fucking Rubber crutch who knew it was going to be this bad? I only read 20 pages and I need to rinse my eyes out with Bleach to eradicate some of what I read.

The first 20 pages evince a shitty structure. A complete lack of care (Roman's last name spelled as "Polansky", "it's" instead of "its", basic stuff). No visual flare whatsoever.

But forget all of that. The script MAKES STUFF up for no reason. Why in the name of hell, when you have enough material here that would work for a 5 year tv series, when you have to cut interesting stuff out, why the fuck MAKE STUFF UP? It is mind boggling. I don't mean making up a useless, pointless framing device. I am fine with that. I mean making up the back stories for the girls, all very well established by history. I mean even making up a major character. The Brad Wyman script was poorly written and dumb, and made Nancy Pitman out to be a hero. The Kosar script put bricks to sleep just by showing them a page. But this is actually OFFENSIVELY BAD.

We start out with the framing device, wherein Alice, a CNN reporter, wonders if Squeaky, now out of prison, is hanging with Sandy who she calls "Blue". She discusses this with a man named Cooper. Susanna Lo the author is a Lesbian, which is great, but the man hating kind, which is not so great. Cooper is described as a "mid-life-crisis man" whatever that means, a description she uses to describe other men in the film. This is an indication both of her lack of writing skills and her obsession with not liking men. Alice and Coop are Manson experts. Why? We don't know. They don't mention the only Official Blog. They do agree that the BUG is a lying filthy whore, and then chuckle knowingly. But then they decide they are going to do something no one has ever done- find SUMMER SUNSHINE, a socialite who hung with the Family then disappeared.

Um, what?

This is only 4 pages and already I don't care. Who are Alice and Cooper? They are obsessed with Manson, but why do I care? I have no emotional interest in them at all- they are robots. And they want to find a character that Lo made up out of her ass? Good for them. No wait, bad for them.

Now we get something so incredible I shake my head writing it. PAGES of quick vignettes introducing the girls. Really quick, really bad, like something out of the Super Friends but instead of cards reading "Aquaman" and "The Flash" we get "Lynette Squeaky Fromme" and "Linda Yana The Witch Kasabian."

The back story of each girl is interesting, in reality, as footnotes. Lo doesn't have to alter them for dramatic tension. What she does instead is alter them so they BEAR NO REALITY TO WHAT HAPPENED OR TO ACTUAL HUMAN EXPERIENCE. I really think this girl spends a lot of time living delusions.

-We start innocently enough as Papa Good picks up his three girls and the youngest stares at his new Cadillac. Don't know if this ever happened but we do get to meet Sandy.

- Next we are at a Catholic Church and we meet Mary, asleep during Mass (was she even a Catholic?) This scene could be true, but shows NOTHING about the character except that she sleeps and gets tired.

- Linda doesn't like Mom's new boyfriend, so she storms out in the street. Poor writing makes this hard to follow, but the scene adds nothing anyway.

- Squeaky smokes a joint in front of her father, who reams her for "only" getting an A- on a math test. She then puts the joint out on her arm while he watches. She then in private fires a staple gun into her arm. Twice. Maybe this stuff happened to Lo as a child. It didn't happen to Fromme.

- Leslie learns that her parents are getting divorced, eats a sandwich angrily, then goes to see her boyfriend who throws money at her for an abortion and drives away. Ummm, no, the mother MADE her have the abortion, fools.

- Gypsy goes to the Hollywood Mortuary (really?) for her mother's funeral then plays angry violin tunes at her blind dad. Okay....

-Katie allows some boy to fuck her under the bleachers, then cries because she is ugly and then chews on a crucifix (was she Catholic? I am asking because I don't know and don't care but there is a lot of references in this script to Catholic shit).

- This one takes the cake! Mr. Atkins fights with Mrs. Atkins and KILLS her. Yes KILLS HER. He did it, not cancer. And apparently he was very fat (no he wasn't). While he does this Sadie's brother Michael and three close friends all fuck young Sadie who doesn't care.

- Summer Sunshine, some rich bitch, walks on the Berkeley Campus with a BLACK MAN (omg!)

Summer meets Mary at the Library (she seems to be HEAD LIBRARIAN now, holy shit) Mary introduces Squeaky, who now in her second scene is still smoking a joint.

We see Sadie at the Kit Kat Club. The stage is "sticky with a lot of pussy." Yes she wrote that. Sadie onstage shoots up heroin. She convulses with an overdose. Sigh.

Sadie recovers in the hospital. Doesn't know what VD is.

Page 20 is really annoying because it shows the author doesn't even care about how her characters relate. Squeaky never called herself that. Mary never said "Hi I'm Mother Mary". People did call them that. But they never went around introducing themselves that way.

1/5th of the movie is over. There's no lead and no one I give a shit about. By now the first act should be over and it should be clear what the goal of the protagonist is.

I'll finish the review, but this thing is a mess. Full of Fabicated Garbage.

Brad Wyman has a film called THE MANSON GIRLS. It was the world's shittiest script. It featured BRENDA/Nancy Pitman as the main character. They wanted to use Lindsay Lohan as Brenda. It has yet to be made after four years.

Scott Kosar has a film called THE FAMILY. It tells the whole story through the eyes of Dianne Lake. This script was so misguided and poorly written that blog members made me stop reviewing the script because there was no point. This script is being produced by the Gotham Group, a management company for Animators , who don't know how to produce movies. So this ain't happening. An Australian Cable TV actor is scheduled to play Manson. Kosar announced this film 8 years ago after his tepid remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

A new movie directed by Susanna Lo will focus on the female followers of cult leader Charles Manson.

Production on "Manson Girls" will begin this spring, Lo announced Monday at the Sundance Film Festival. Lo wrote the screenplay for the film, which will examine the lives of eight young women who were followers of Manson.

The cast includes Taryn Manning, Heather Matarazzo, Tania Raymonde and Monica Keena.

Manson and three women followers were convicted in Los Angeles in 1971 of murder and conspiracy in the 1969 slayings of seven people, including actress Sharon Tate.

Lo said she became interested in the story when she realized she was living across the street from the house once occupied by Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary, who were killed the next night.

She decided the most interesting element of the story was what made the girls fall under Manson's spell.

"I wanted to tell their early story when they were teenagers to before the Tate-LaBianca murders. That was much more fascinating to me. Why and how. How could this tiny, strange man from prison and almost a derelict completely attract all of these fantastic girls?" Lo said.

"I thought that was a very innovative way to tell the story," said Raymonde, who will play Manson follower Leslie Van Houten. "I thought that it wasn't exploitative at all ... and it wasn't putting any focus on Manson because I think one of the most interesting aspects is you never see him in the film."

Keena was so intent on playing Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme that she studied her intensely before her audition and now knows "everything about her."

"It gives you a chance to have some sort of empathy toward them that you might not have had before," Keena said. "I'm not saying you should forgive them, but there's a method to their madness, let's say."

Songs from the 1960s will help drive the story. Guy Allison of the Doobie Brothers will compose the music for the film.

Manson is serving a life sentence in a California prison. He has a devoted fan base, which concerns Manning.

Forty years ago today prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi stood in a charged Los Angeles courtroom as the jury returned a verdict of guilty against Charles Manson for his involvement in a murder spree.

Bugliosi said in a Wichita Falls speech not long ago that the seven people would never have been murdered by the small band of people were it not for Manson.

Several Wichita Falls lawyers and other residents who heard Bugliosi's intriguing speech remembered the famed prosecutor referring to Manson as having so much influence over the actions of his followers that they were like robots he sent out to murder people.

Bugliosi also said during part of his Wichita Falls speech at the University Club that, "He would have killed as many people as he could have. That was his religion. His followers killed with relish."

The killing machine that Manson directed stabbed pregnant actress Sharon Tate to death along with four other people in the mansion she shared with director Roman Polanski.

The very next day Manson ordered his "band of robots" to murder affluent businessman Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary in their Los Angeles home.

Bugliosi also said that the Manson murders would never have occurred if the California prison system had followed Manson's request. When Charles Manson was in prison on other charges before the murders, he asked California officials to keep him locked up in prison. His request was denied, and he was released against his will.

Most Wichita Falls attorneys agree with Bugliosi that Manson will probably never be released from prison again.

Only last week Manson disciple Patricia Krenwinkle went before the parole board and requested her freedom at age 63.

The California parole board denied her request saying the crime was too serious.

Another disciple Susan Atkins died from cancer in prison after the parole board denied her request for mercy.

Evidence showed Susan Atkins stabbed Sharon Tate to death while the helpless actress begged for mercy.

"She asked me to spare her," Atkins said. "I told her I didn't have any mercy for her."

The parole board returned the favor by denying Atkins mercy.

Leslie Van Houten was involved with stabbing victim Rosemary LaBianca 16 times the next night. The former homecoming queen has been denied parole 19 times.

Manson was convicted on January 25, 1971.

Dear Friends and Loved Ones,

Our earlier message, in which we provided the address for the California parole board and the name of its chairman, was intended for those among you who might be inclined to write a letter protesting the manner in which my parole hearing last month was conducted. I would not presume to suggest that you write such a letter. We provided the information simply by way of opening an avenue for expressing directly to the chief of parole hearings the disappointment, frustration, critical opinions, indignation, dismay, etc., regarding the hearing that many of you have expressed in writing to me.

Some of you have written to ask for guidance in writing a letter to the parole board. To that I would say, simply, write whatever is on your heart to say . . . or not, as the case may be. Nothing you say to that agency in a letter can do me harm, so, if you write one, be fearless.

I can certainly relate to the frustration and dismay many of you have expressed. To be confronted, after all these years, by such obstinate refusal to examine with honesty and integrity the evidence of my 41 years prison history, and the progression to the mature understanding of my responsibility that it represents, makes the hearing I recently experienced almost completely incomprehensible. The level of prejudice was beyond the pale. That the presiding commissioner would prevent me (twice, in two consecutive hearings) from making a closing statement that would demonstrate my having come to terms with the full magnitude of my responsibility to the man whose life I took and everyone affected by my actions, 41 years ago, makes a mockery of the very definition of a parole hearing.

A transcript of the hearing would be helpful in conveying to you a better sense of what happened. Unfortunately, the hearing record won’t be made available until after the decision in the hearing becomes final. By that time the outside chance that letters might have some influence on the final decision will have passed. The best I can offer is my assurance that what I have related to you is accurate.

There were no holes in the presentation that was prepared for the hearing. This included a comprehensive history of educational, vocational, and insight development programs I’ve availed myself of, all of the work that I’ve done over the years, as well as personal creative endeavors, and long-term involvement in youth outreach. The numerous letters of support from family, friends, citizens of the world community, and corrections officials, included solid employment offers and affirmed residences in two states. There were no new misconducts, and in fact a disciplinary report that had been an issue in the previous hearing had since been expunged from my record in the interest of justice. Since the previous hearing I had even added a couple of new college courses to my resume.

All of this was lost on the presiding commissioner and his assistant. They were obviously more interested in using my hearing to take a remote swipe at Manson, with references to crimes I was in no way involved in, and could not have been involved in, than in giving me a fair hearing on the merits of my own case history.

So, yes, there are some significant reasons for all of us to feel some frustration and dismay at this juncture.

The problem with California’s parole board, it seems to me, is that over the past couple of decades it has increasingly become insulated in the state’s political morass. It won’t hurt the people involved in that agency to be reminded by private citizens – including you citizens in other countries – of the principles they were appointed to uphold.

I was a bit surprised by the resounding response to the reservations I had expressed in my earlier message, in regards to writing my book. Many of you wrote words of encouragement, for which I am grateful. Be assured that I am empowered with fresh resolve to devote my energies to whittling away until the book has fully taken shape, without getting hung up in where the chips may fall. There is a story that must be told and (as more than one of you said) there isn’t anyone else who can do it. Doing what is the right thing to do with dedication to the highest principle naturally means letting go of concerns about perceptions or possible outcomes. Damn the torpedoes!

Making Up Lies for Attention

Dear Board of Prison Terms:

My name is Barbara Hoyt. I was a prosecution witness in the many Manson trials, including the Shorty Shea murder trials. I testified against Bruce Davis, Steve Grogan, and Charles Manson.

I have now 30 years later watched the parole hearings for Bruce Davis and read the transcripts for Steve Grogan, provided to me by Bill Nelson. Both of them have grossly misrepresented the facts to you. About a week or two after the Aug. 16, 69 sheriff’s raid at Sphan's ranch, in the afternoon, I was sitting on a rock in the parking area in front of the boardwalk. Near me were Brenda, Gypsy, and Squeeky. One of them said, as Shorty walked towards George Sphan's house, "there goes Shorty snooping around again" and another one answered her " yea well, he'll be taken care of."

One night not long after, I went to go to sleep in one of the trailers at the back of the ranch overlooking the creek bed below. At about 10 o’clock at night, just as I laid my head on the pillow, I heard a long, loud, blood curdling scream, which came from about 50-75 feet away from me from up stream. Then it was quiet for a minute or so, and then the screams came again, and again, again, again,....They seemed to go on forever.

I recognized the screams of Shorty's voice. I can still hear those screams today, exactly as I heard them that night. I have absolutely no doubt that Shorty was being murdered at that time.

Early the next morning, I asked Gypsy, who was in the Rock City Cafe at the ranch house end of the board walk if she had heard Shorty screaming last night, and she told me very sternly that Shorty had gone to San Francisco. Later that morning Charlie was bragging to Danny DeCarlo about how "Shorty committing suicide with a little help from us." Charlie went on to say " I stabbed him and Shorty asked, "Why Charlie? Why?" and I told him this is why! And I stabbed him again, that he was real hard to kill when we brought him to NOW. That we all kept stabbing him until Clem cut his head off!. And we cut him up into 9 pieces and buried him around the ranch."

I didn't see the murder even thought I did try to look out that window and obviously I don't know exactly how they killed Shorty but his death must have been very painful to make him scream as he did. But I do know that Shorty was killed at about 10 o’clock at night, under a full moon, and not in the afternoon as the killers are telling you. I also know that the murder occurred about 50+ feet up stream from the ranch and not the mile or so down Santa Susanna Pass road again as the killers are telling you.

Bruce has told you that he was afraid of the family, and that he was afraid of Tex. This is a blatant lie, because Bruce was older and vying for a leadership role in the family, or at least a second in command to Charlie.

He was the only other male to have worn Charlie’s embroidered vest. He lectured like Charlie when Charlie was not there. Other members in the family killed more people for Charlie but knowing that the family was committing murders, Bruce wanted to lead them.

I am well aware that the body of Shorty Shea was recovered intact and was not dismembered as Charlie had claimed. And that his body was located about where they claimed to have killed him. They may have buried him there but it is not where he was killed.

I am against Bruce Davis getting a parole date for 3 reasons:

Because he wanted to be a family leader even though he knew the family was committing murder {i.e. Gary Hinman} and not just to follow Charlie.
He is lying even to this day about the time and place of the murder.

I believe he is lying about fearing Tex, people in the family were more afraid of Bruce than Tex.

I find it curious that even as he professes to be a Christian today that he is still lying to you.

Might as well go back to 1066. Kids today don't remember Reagan. Palin shows up and you compare her to McCarthy and people are like "ummm what?" Sorry I came undone. They are never getting out NOT because of who they killed but because whoever lets them out lets out a Mansonite. And this will never do. So aside from some special face time in which Debra can weep and rewrite history, the hearings are a parade.

What I would LOVE is for one of them to say next time, "You are right I don't deserve to be out, I skip the hearing" and then for their lawyer to say- "Aha, they are sorry, let them out." But that would be too easy....

Charlie Manson follower Krenwinkel denied parole

In a decision suggesting that the brutal Sharon Tate murders are unforgivable, a parole board panel refused to consider releasing Patricia Krenwinkel, who told the board she killed for the love of Charles Manson.

The two-member panel made clear Thursday that it was the horror of the killings, one of the most notorious of the 20th century, that led them to reject the bid for parole in spite of Krenwinkel's efforts to change her life.

They said that the murders of seven people in an extremely atrocious manner had impacted the entire world as evidenced by letters which came in from around the globe urging that she be kept behind bars.

"These crimes remain relevant," said parole commissioner Susan Melanson. "The public is in fear."

Melanson and Deputy Commissioner Steven Hernandez issued their decision after a four-hour hearing and more than an hour of deliberations at which Krenwinkel wept, apologized for her murderous deeds and said she was ashamed of her actions.

Members of victims' families also cried and recalled their suffering after the murders and called for her to be kept behind bars. Melanson said the notoriety of the crimes and their viciousness weighed heavily in the decision.

"This is a crime children grow up hearing about," she said, and noted that Krenwinkel failed to understand the worldwide impact.

"The panel concludes that she is not suitable for parole and would present an unreasonable danger if released," she said. She referred to seven victims who were brutally murdered over two nights in a crime which she said could be classified as a hate crime because of overtones of wanting to foment a race war.

"This was a depraved act by a group of individuals who find it difficult to explain their actions," she said.

The panel had the option to deny parole for up to 15 years. Melanson said they felt that was unnecessary and commended Krenwinkle for making progress in her life behind bars, participating in self-help programs and other positive contributions.

"While we want to commend you for the positive, you are unsuitable for parole and require an additional seven years of incarceration," she said.

Krenwinkel was told she could request a parole hearing earlier if her situation changes.

Krenwinkel, who has been imprisoned longer than any other woman in California, told the parole board earlier Thursday that she threw away everything good in herself and became a "monster" after she met Manson.

In reference to Krenwinkel's claim that she was seeking approval from Manson when she killed, Melanson said "The panel finds it hard to believe a person can participate in this level of crimes and can't identify anything but 'I wanted him to love me.'"

Krenwinkel, one of Manson's two surviving female followers, has maintained a clean prison record in her four decades behind bars, but her chances for release appeared slim following parole rejections in other Manson cases.

During her hearing, the 63-year-old was soft-spoken and contrite in response to board members' questions, describing the downward spiral of her life after she met Manson.

"Everything that was good and decent in me I threw away," she said.

It was her father, she said, who helped her realize during his visits to her in prison, "what had happened, and the monster I became."

She said she tells those she counsels in prison, "I am someone you would never have wanted to be, and here are the steps you can take to never go to the dark places I have been."

Krenwinkel's claim that she is rehabilitated was met by anger and opposition from Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Patrick Sequeira and families of the victims, who argued for Krenwinkel's continued incarceration.

"If she truly had remorse, she wouldn't come to these parole hearings, and would say, 'I accept the punishment,'" Sequeira said.

Debra Tate, sister of Sharon Tate, then tearfully recounted the pain her family endured from the killings. She denounced Krenwinkel for never having written a letter of apology to the families.

"I want to believe the human condition is capable of change," Tate said. "I believe in the possibility of reform. But I know what I am looking at, and I don't see it here."

She told the board through tears that, "Whatever decision you make I will live with. But every time I sit in this chair I have to think, what will happen if they come out? What will society do?"

Anthony Di Maria, the nephew of Jay Sebring, who was killed along with Tate, cried throughout his words to the board, and said the parole hearings "send us back to hell, year after year."

"I wish I had forgiveness to give," Di Maria said.

Krenwinkel was convicted along with Manson and two other female followers in seven 1969 murders, considered among the most notorious crimes of the 20th century.

None of those convicted has ever been paroled and one of them, Susan Atkins, died in prison last year after being denied compassionate release when she was terminally ill with cancer.

Leslie Van Houten, 61, the youngest of the women convicted, was long thought to be the most likely to win eventual release. But she was denied a parole date last summer by officials who said she had not gained sufficient insight into her crimes.

Parole boards have repeatedly cited the callousness, viciousness and calculation of the murders committed by members of the Manson Family.

Krenwinkel admitted during her trial that she chased down and stabbed heiress Abigail Folger at the Tate home on Aug. 9, 1969, and participated in the stabbing deaths of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca the following night. In her 40 years at the California Institution for Women, Krenwinkel has earned a bachelor's degree and participated in numerous self help programs as well as teaching illiterate prisoners how to read. In recent years, she has been involved in a program to train service dogs for the disabled.

She said she has made arrangements for the possibility that she could be released, and would change her name and leave the state.

Krenwinkel's lawyer, Keith Wattley, argued at the hearing that the law says if someone is serving life with the possibility of parole, they must be given parole unless they are deemed to be currently dangerous, which he said she is not.

Asked to make her own final case to the board, Krenwinkel wept profusely, wiping her eyes with a tissue, and said, "I'm just haunted each and every day by the unending suffering of the victims, the enormity and degree of suffering I've caused."

Her voice rising in the silent room, she nearly shouted, "I'm so ashamed of my actions. The victims had so much life left to live."

People keep writing me about the evilliz blog. She's a bit loony but a nice enough loon. She seems focused on finding pictures of TLB Players since the case times...right up to modern times. That amount of work makes the Col's nut sack shrivel up in tears. I like the pictures of TJ, don't get me wrong. And the pictures of Ruth Ann, should they be real, are fascinating to look at. But the point of this, the ONLY Official TLB Blog, is to try to get to he truth of the crimes. A truth that has been lost thanks to the lies and perjury of Vinnie T. BUGliosi, the great lover of Latin music. If photos of modern day people are helpful, I will surely run them here. Steve Grogan, aka Adam Gabriel definitely knows more than he told. He still has yet to be charged for the LaBianca killings. He has a conviction for exposing himself to children. He is seen in the Hendrickson documentary endangering some kids. He disappears for years. Fine. When it comes out that he is in a band that plays children's parties, that IS news and relevant and we will discuss it here.

This has nothing to do with psycho Monkeyboy or two bit lawyers without actual offices. Ruth Ann likely could add many details to the story of the Family; she doesn't know shit about the murders. She's lived her life as far as I can tell well. If Liz or anyone wants to out her, I neither approve nor disapprove. I'm just not gonna do it. Nancy Pitman the same. As far as I know she didn't kill anyone and isn't still on the run. She likely did go back the first night to the Tate House, but this isn't a crime. She got lucky with a LOT of shit, especially the Stockton murders, but she paid her time. If Evil Liz wants to obsess about her, hey, I don't even know who Liz IS, not my problem. Also not my interest.

I want to make sure that you're fully aware of what some of your blog members have been up in regards to the recent picture postings of Ruth Ann Moorehouse.

My understanding is that these pictures of Ruth Ann may have been acquired from screen caps of a wedding video of one of her sons. First of all, the very fact that these individuals, who all seem to be associated with YOU felt the need to stalk her sons accounts to acquire these images of Ruth Ann is just creepy unto itself. Secondly, I know for a fact that Ruth Ann did not give her permission for these photographs to be put up on display anywhere for people to just come in and copy them.

There's a right to privacy issue here that involves a woman who is living a "Normal" life and who is working and who is making her own living. This unwanted exposee that Elizabeth Russell aka "Evil Liz" from Connecticut is doing is a pure vanity play on her part that could do irreperable damage to Ruth Ann's life as well as the lives of her family.

We already went through this argument once before with Steve Grogan and we know that Steve lost his job as a result of someone else's overzealousness. I DON'T want to see that happen to Ruth Ann.

Why am i contacting you? Simple, because these people who are stirring things up are members of your blog. All of the problems in cyberspace that arise, in regards to this case, all seem to ripple back to your blog. Then again, being the "Head of the Snake", that comes as no surprise to me.

What i'd like to ask you to do is to stop Evil Liz from having any additional private wanking sessions to Ruth Ann's photographs and for Liz to re-open her blog to the public so that we know that she is complying with this request.

As i'm sure you may already know, I put up a video of Joshua Zelinsky on my page. We all know the story behind Joshua, as well as many others, whose names, addresses and phone numbers are in my possession. Sisters and brothers, family, loved ones, friends . . .

The parole hearing occurred last Monday (Dec 13), as scheduled. It was an energy sapping experience. In the several days since then I have put my focus on restoring my energy levels and marshalling my thoughts for what I would say to you now. Keeping all of you in suspense was not my intent. I just needed to catch my breath, so to speak.

On the face of it the hearing did not go well at all. The best place to begin describing what happened is with a brief recap of my last hearing two years ago, because what happened this week was a carryover from that hearing.

The presiding parole board commissioner in the 2008 hearing was an unwavering adherent to the most grotesque pop culture rendition of the Manson mythology, who avowed to being “personally offended” by some of the rhetoric Manson has been described as espousing back in the sixties. I dislike making judgments of other people every bit as much as I dislike having judgments, misjudgments or prejudgments, applied to me. So I will confine this account to a characterization: Imagine a man with his fingers in his ears, blinders on his eyes, and his mouth moving unceasingly with fatuous refusal to brook any point of view but his own. There is just no breaking through such a density of egoism. To have one’s personal situation be at the mercy of that sort of willful ignorance is no easy thing to accept.

The 2008 hearing resulted in a five-year denial of parole. The hearing commissioner was determined to apply a new law that tripled the parole denial periods allowed under California law beyond what they had been, even though the new law had not yet been enacted. A few months later I learned that I had become the beneficiary of a class action lawsuit that I didn’t even know had been filed, challenging the premature application of the new law. The five-year denial in my 2008 hearing was modified to a two-year denial.

Attorney Steven Moretz volunteered, on a friendship basis, to represent me in the 2010 hearing. He is a good man, and a competent lawyer, and I was moved to accept his offer.

I was encouraged to make an all-out effort in preparation for this hearing. Steve spent uncounted hours researching the records and meticulously preparing a presentation for the hearing that included an accounting of all of my skills, accomplishments, community resources and support. Numerous letters (close to fifty) were received from my relations, friends, media industry professionals, and Oregon DOC administrators who have worked with me for many years – collectively making a powerful statement – and these were compiled into an impressive packet of supporting exhibits. I wrote myself notes for points that I wanted to raise during the hearing, and prepared a closing statement expressing my acceptance of responsibility for the choices I made and the actions I committed that exacted such a heavy price.

Last Monday morning my hearing was delayed about 40 minutes because the commissioner who had been scheduled to conduct the hearing – a fair man, reputedly – was replaced, literally at the last minute, by the same commissioner who had chaired the 2008 hearing. Again the fingers in the ears, the blinders the fatuous mouthings of unctuous gibberish. Frequently during the hearing, relevant remarks I attempted to offer were suppressed. Again, as in the 2008 hearing, I was not permitted to make the closing statement I had prepared. And at the end, with dogmatic references to crimes I was not and could not have been in any way involved in, the commissioner re-invoked that once-thwarted five year denial.

Although I made a commitment to put my best effort forward for this hearing, I did so without expectations, without hope, without fear. Consequently, my spirit is not crushed by the outcome. I am experiencing some disappointment, however. For many years I have held the belief that at some point the determination of circumstances would come into an arena where saner, more reasonable minds would prevail. At this point I’m wondering if holding onto such a belief is naïve.

My lawyer went at his preparations for the hearing, and the hearing itself, with an eye to taking the matter on appeal to the courts in the event I was not granted parole this time. I’m not an attorney, but it seems to me that the violations of due process in this hearing were so egregious that the record will easily support an effective writ. Taking something like this into court and following through carries significant expense, however, beyond what I can manage with the resources I currently have available to me. If anyone has any ideas about how I can earn some cash to pursue this relief, I’m open to suggestions.

My partner Barbara has told me many times, for years and years, that she believes I will not see the outside of a prison until I finish writing my book, and publish it, as a way of distinguishing myself from the popular mythology relating to that guy whose name we don’t need to mention again. This presents a problem for me on multiple levels. As much as I would love to do the one thing that would likely please my beloved Barbara the most, the notion of subordinating the creative process to the purpose of manipulating opinion to make conditions more favorable for my release on parole rubs my fur the wrong way. Right now, though, I’m thinking that I need to stop struggling to get clear on my motives to write my book, and just write the damn thing.

So this is how things stand at present. Like all things in this world, appearances are subject to change without notice.

I am grateful beyond words for the rich outpouring of love and support, positive energy and good thoughts that came my way in recent months. Truly, this is the real hearing for me, all the endorsement I could ever need. Please don’t feel badly about the outcome of the hearing. The fat lady ain’t sung yet. And anyway, I am not my body, and my freedom is not subject to the conditions that my body must undergo. This is true for all of us.

Charles Manson follower Bobby Beausoleil denied parole again in killing of musician Gary Hinman. Should 'family' members ever be freed?

Once again, the state Board of Parole has rejected efforts by a Charles Manson follower to be released from prison.

The latest move came Monday and involved Bobby Beausoleil, 63. According to the Associated Press: "He was arrested for the murder of musician Gary Hinman in August 1969. Beausoleil was convicted of Hinman's murder in 1970 and sentenced to death. The sentence was commuted to life when the California Supreme Court found the death penalty unconstitutional in 1972."

The issue of whether Manson family members should ever be released from prison came up in 2008 when Susan Atkins, who was terminally ill, asked for her freedom. Officials rejected her bid, and she died in prison.

At the time, some people said the Manson murders were so horrific that the perpetrators should never be released. Do you agree? Share your views.

CBS) California prison officials want to stop prison inmates like convicted murderer Charles Manson from reaching out and touching people with smuggled cell phones.

Prison guards confiscated the flip phone for the man behind one of the most infamous killing sprees in U.S. history after he placed calls and sent text messages to people in California, Florida, New Jersey and British Columbia, Canada, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

"It's troubling that he had a cell phone since he's a person who got other people to murder on his behalf," a spokeswoman for the state Department of Corrections told the Times.

The spokeswoman, Terry Thornton, also told the Times she didn't know if Manson ordered anyone during a call to commit a crime.

Authorities have urged the Federal Communications Commission to grant them authority to jam cell phone signals at prisons, but telecommunications lobbyists have told the agency that jamming would also block non-inmates near prisons from making calls.

Officials told the Times that prison inmates use the phones to run drug rings, intimidate witnesses and plan escapes yet being in possession of a cell phone isn't a crime in the Golden State.

President Obama signed into law during the summer a bill making smuggling cell phones into federal prisons a crime, but that law doesn't apply to state prisons, the Times reported. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a bill in September that would have fined people providing cell phones to prisoners $5,000, the Times reported.

In California prisons, authorities told the Times the number of cell phones confiscated has been on the rise from 1,400 in 2007, when confiscations were first recorded, to 8,675 thus far in 2010.

Dear Family and Friends,

A brief update . . .

My parole hearing is rapidly approaching. In my earlier email notice about the hearing I failed to actually mention when it would occur, and a few of you have expressed concern that the window of opportunity to write a letter for the hearing may already have closed. Sorry for the oversight!

There is still time to get a letter in, if you are so inclined, and if you have not done so already, but not much. The hearing is scheduled for Monday morning December 13th. For a letter to be submitted to the hearing panel within the time constraints it will need to be received by my attorney no later than November 23rd. Here is the address again, for convenience.

Page 31 more voiceover and we meet Tex
and ON PAGE 32 via a newsreel we meet Sharon and Roman.

Half an hour in but the fucking buttlick director gives interviews saying he wants us to meet the victims and get to know them! After one minute of NEWSREEL we go to Wilson's house.

Page 34 has Charlie babbling about black people to Tex.
Gregg gets introduced and then they record an album. (More voiceover!)

Then off to Cielo where they play the record and he doesn't groove.
Snake says Charlie thinks they could be like the Partridge Family EXCEPT THEY DON'T EXIST YET FOR ANOTHER THREE YEARS. What fucking lazy writing.

Kitty and Gypsy get introduced. Sigh.

Everybody gets on the bus. LSD tripping. Charlie forces Snake OFF The bus in the middle of nowhere. And then lets her back on. Being mean to Snake? So?

Page 42 she is back on and we move on....

Page 22 the cops bust them all for being nekkid and shit.
Page 23 Snake says that she has that name because that's how she fucks, but man, she makes it a joke which it wasn't.
Yet another montage series of the Family being harassed by the Law Man in every state. They settle in Joshua Tree. Charlie and Snake make love in the desert and the movie becomes kiddie porn.
Then Charlie sings Ceast To Exist. Snake bores us with a ton more voiceover introducing Bobby. And Gary. Who remains a mescaline dealer in the script. Then she has us meet Watkins, Davis, and Dennis.

Now get this- as the girls raid Dennis' closet they find a drawer of sex toys and Squeaky exclaims.

HOLY MACARONI!

Page 30 ends with Charlie saying that he loves Snake, and so does this entry. I feel unwell.

Look I'm all for whatever floats your boat. I always got freaked out by the homophobes who screamed that Steven Parent wasn't gay. Of course he was, and so what? And Abigail and Jay did a lot of coke. And Voytek and Gary dealt drugs. So the fuck what. None of that means they needed to end up as shish ka bob.

What I never got was the people who believed the Jesus Bullshit, the idea that the Bible was some sort of How to book. According to Christian philosophy, if Hitler said he was sorry with his dying breathe, he would be forgiven and let into Heaven. Screw that!

IF There is a God and that's a pretty damn big IF, he sure as shit isn't forgiving certain bastards no matter how damn sorry they are.

So I stumble across this photo on the web and it makes me want to vomit in my hanky. "I am the way and the light, whoever believes in me shall be saved." Page 13 Snake's mom gives her to Charlie, complete with signature.
Oh snap. Another Montage. All the girls on the bus as Snake tries desperately to explain them all in one paragraph. Katie tried to be a nun. Squeaky's dad was a rocket scientist? Yeller looked like Greta Garbo? Sandy was snooty. Sadie was a brat.

The Charlie sings Garbage Dump over a montage of Family dumpster diving, car washing (?) and candy eating. Montage central this thing.

Then Sharon has her first date with Roman. Calls him Mr. Polanski. Uh huh.

Mary gives birth to Pooh Bear. Lots of joint smoking and screaming. This ends with Snake biting through the cord and tying it off with the guitar string. So much for any sort of accuracy Kosar.

I'm sorry. I am gonna stop on Page 21 after this quote-

Script Review- THE FAMILY- Part 1

Screenplay is called THE FAMILY by Scott Kosar based on the book by Ed Sanders. Not sure why since it IS NOTHING like the book.

Screenplay is the FOURTH Draft, most easily available to this reviewer.

No date is available.

First scene is with Dianne Lake in Death Valley in 69, telling us she had some friends but they changed. Then we see Tex driving the girls in the car a few minutes after the Cielo slaughter. Next we slam cut to the HOG FARM where Dianne is 13 ( can you imagine the casting?) and watches her mother screw on the floor.

We're only on page 3 before Kosar decides to let logic lapse completely. You see Dianne goes out on her bicycle from the Hog Farm, in Sunland, and arrives at the dumpster in Topanga where Mary, Katie and Squeaky (he actually has someone call her SQUEAKS- this was of course NEVER done) are diving for chocolate bars (when in fact it was always for veggies). And Dianne has a magic bicycle because of course there's fucking 38 miles between Sunland and Topanga and she isn't even sweating.

Now the Col always thinks montages in the middle of films are lame but Kosar starts his on page fucking 4. A series of vignettes where we meet all the main girls (and Yeller?) who all tell Snake what a great lover Charlie is. Dianne stuffs her bra and hitches to ... The Spiral Staircase where the Family is crashing. WTF? It was a club. Mary and Sandy grab Snake (who is called this even though she hasn't met Charlie yet, who gives her her nickname)

More meeting girls like Cappy. Then Charlie on a bus. He notices her stuffed bra, and then owns her ass.

That's through PAGE 13. Not nearly as bad as Wyman's garbage, but again, Dianne Lake, go get lawyers now! Your lawsuit is guaranteed a home run!

EXCL: Kwanten Stars, Kosar Directs Manson Film

Heat is building on Scott (The Machinist) Kosar's script for The Family, his long-gestating project about Charles Mason.

Ryan Kwanten told the press recently that he is going to star and that appears to be true, however, a journalist misconstrued something Kwanten said about Brad Anderson directing. And that's false.

"First off, my good friend and idol Brad has nothing to do with this film," Kosar tells Shock Till You Drop exclusively. "I will be making my directorial debut from a script I wrote. The movie won't focus on the Manson murders. Nor is it a Manson biopic. It's a family biopic. A movie about a surrogate family of wayward teenagers who, through extraordinary circumstances, came together and were transformed into the most notorious American family of the 20th century. Hence the title."

Kosar elaborates his film with explore the family unit. "A very unconventional unit, but a family nonetheless. It is not a horror film, though the subject is inherently horrific. The goal is to do, finally, after forty years, the first authentic film about the so-called Manson Family. Unlike other films on the subject, The Family will also spend time getting to know the victims, particularly Sharon Tate, who will be portrayed very sympathetically. I don't think a responsible movie can be made about this subject without humanizing the victims, which must be done in order to truly convey - as much as a film is able to - the enormity of the tragedy. This won't be a slasher film, but it won't gloss over the violence either. It's a film about an American taboo that has never been dramatized with any balance or accuracy. Bugliosi-based films accurately deal with the prosecution of "the Family." My film will concern the family itself. Who they were and what their lives were like with Manson."

Interesting stuff. Of course, we've seen plenty of Manson films come down the track over the last few decades - some good, some bad. The Family should certainly deliver something unique given Kosar's time developing and researching the script.

And now the interpretation-

1- There's no heat just because a TV actor said he was playing Charlie. An Australian actor btw. There's no heat at all.
2- The TV actor doesn't even know who is directing the alleged goddamn film. He mentioned a real director named Brad Anderson. But it is Scott Kosar, who has never even directed traffic.
3- He mentions Bugliosi as truthful, thus killing any chance of this being any use to anyone.

Like I said, the Col is finally examining this screenplay and will share his comments with you. But I tell you this much- it features DIANNE SNAKE LAKE as the centerpiece of the action. This means
- It's bullshit
- Miss Lake's lawyers can have a field day since she isn't a public figure and certainly didn't authorize the film.

Ryan Kwanten joins Manson 'Family'

'True Blood' thesp to star in Scott Kosar's indie drama

Scott Kosar will make his directorial debut on "The Family," an indie drama focusing on the wayward teens who became the Manson Family.

Ryan Kwanten ("True Blood") will play Charles Manson, who was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the Tate/LaBianca murders in 1969. Nicholas Simon ("City of Ghosts") will produce with The Gotham Group. Production's expected to be in Los Angeles next summer.

Kosar's adapted Ed Saunders book "The Family" and emphasized that the pic won't focus on the Manson murders, nor is it a Manson biopic but rather with the Manson Family as a unit.

"It is not a horror film, though the subject is inherently horrific," said Kosar, who stressed that the story foocuses on the victims, particularly Sharon Tate.

"I don't think a responsible movie can be made about this subject without humanizing the victims, which must be done in order to truly convey (as much as a film is able to) the enormity of the tragedy," he added. "This won't be a slasher film, but it won't gloss over the violence either."

Kosar's scripting credits include "The Machinist," "The Amityville Horror" and "The Crazies."

News of Kosar's directing attachment and Kwanten's signing was first reported on the Shocktillyoudrop.com site.

Okay, now this is some bullshit right here. What happened was a not bright television actor spoke up about possibly doing a film. If you read the article closely, who is paying for this film starring a supporting TV actor? No one. Who is distributing this film? No one. Wait, what about the Gotham Group, they are mentioned! Nope, they are a low level management company that represents animators (!) and seemingly this Kosar chap. They don't finance films.

But then this Kosar guy is a major director right? Nope, never directed a film before in his life. He wrote the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake, which is something he should be ashamed of, not boasting.

Do some googling and you'll see that Fangoria announced this sure to be crapfest back in 2002. AT BEST this article is wishful thinking.

But what it did do is prompt the Col to track down this screenplay. Maybe it would be better that the Brad Wyman shitfest which featured Nancy Pitman as a hell of a nice girl. The film that ALSO never came out.
